My copy of the 2CD EIW has a sticker on it that says:
LCDSTUMM130
Includes
Special
Bonus CD
"Underwater"
(43.11 mins)
Also, the black part of the CD tray that hinges on the left side of the
case clearly says "2 CD" (in the upper left corner of the front/top of
the case).
The Orb 2CD is even easier to pick out. Besides costing an arm and a
leg, you can distinguish it because it shows track lists for both discs
on the back/bottom of the CD case. The cover photo is also a slightly
different color from the 1CD version. If I remember correctly (I only
own the 2CD version), the 2CD version is greener.
These limited edition 2CD albums are great, BTW.
Oh, and just a reminder... "Run On" will be released on Monday. If
you can get it at a reasonable price, I recommend you do. The B-sides
are quite good on this one, and they won't be available on the US
_Honey/Run On_ maxi-CD that's coming out May 11.
The 30-second sound clip of "Run On" will be no longer be available
on moby.org after the single is released, so grab it while you can.

I was disappointed with the "Honey" video as well. I didn't think there
was really any point, or clear story, or anything to really enhance the
song. Some of the "effects" have been done so many times in videos before
that it seemed very cliched or overdone to me. I really hoped for
something better. Yeah, the "Hymn" video is definitely much better.
I got to hear the tracks from the "Run On" single and was pretty surprised
at the similarities to the "Honey" single. "Run On" and "Honey" have
similarities through the sampling and the funk/pop feel to them. Then the
other two tracks on the single are much more mellow, more on the ambient
side. Personally, I think "Honey" is just OK, and "Run On" doesn't impress
me a whole lot, although I do like it. But I absolutely love the
additional tracks on the singles. "Memory Gospel" and "Spirit" are
probably my favorites.
Anyway, my $0.02 since I haven't really spoken up in a while.

They're on the Fractal Zoom *single*:
US CD, Opal/Warner Bros, 9 40539-2
Be sure to get the US CD version, because the 12" has only 4 Moby mixes.
But the US 12" has a Moby mix that's not on the CD(!):
2:11 Fractal Zoom (A Cappella)
I reviewed the Fractal Zoom single in the review contest a couple of weeks

why don't you just buy MOBY stuff over the internet and have them ship

do they ship to Canada?
Heck, I'll even buy the CDs for you and mail em to you. I've got

so the ticket was actually $9.50, which is pretty much 10 bucks.
don't even get me started on CDs...
the cost of good music here in ontario is INSANE! blah!
its not unusual to see moby stuff going for $22 or even more! ick ick ick.

I'm with you on this one Ade. Honey is okay (one Remix is good, I
forget which one, Westbam perhaps or something) but MEMORY GOSPEL &
SPIRIT kick butt. Of course they are not techno, but I love Moby's
ambient stuff like those two songs.
TWO QUESTIONS for TODAY:
1. What's up with that "Whip-It" version Moby does. It stinks!
2. In the intro to "Feeling So Real" off of EIW, what the heck does
the sample Moby uses SAY?? I could never figurte that out. I know at
the end of the intro it says, "Set it up DJ!" but what the heck does
he say before that?? "Some system rock them!" nope that's not it. WHAT
does he say! It's driving me crazy! ARRRRrrrrrgh!
thanks for the help!

It's a jokey, tongue in cheek type deal. I think it's horrible too,
but that's intentional. (how can anyone take this song seriously?)

I heard originally "Set'm n'off t'Egypt", which I know to be grossly
incorrect. I don't know what that one actually is offhand. The other
is "Sound system rockin' massive" (I could do better if I had it with
me to listen to it)
The Everytime you Touch Me samples of Kochie Banton are crazy, too.
"Let's be free", "wonderful things happen now", "Everybody in

Hmm, I took it seriously, like New Dawn Fades.
I like the song, even though I'm not a death metal fan...
What is so horrible about it? The screaming, distorted guitars, noizze?
All of the Animal Rights punk rock songs have that!
If there is a song Moby made that should not be taken seriously it would
be Thousand....

Now Moby's New Dawn Fades has to be one of THE best Joy
Division covers, but I wouldn't classify it as 'death
metal'- alternative/indie/post-punk maybe. Sorry just had
to butt in there and play with semantics.
Well, if 'Whip it' sounds anything like the stuff off AR
then I'd like to hear it some day.

The original "Whip It" by Devo is a goofy, wacky, bizarre, playful,
upbeat, and most of all, zany. It feels like a parody of something
that doesn't exist. The idea of making it into a death metal song is
even more absurd than the song is in the first place. In Moby's
version, you hear grind-screaming "Whip It, into shape, go forward,
move ahead" with as much anger & pain as Moby can summon. But the song
isn't serious, it's just plain wacko goofy. So to hear Moby sound so
serious and pissed (death metal) is funny because of the context the
original gives it. Imagine a slower death metal version of Hanson's
MMMBop. I'm not saying the original "Whip It" is like MMMBop, but the
idea of covering it death metal style is just as unusual and crazy.
That's why it's a joke to me.
So it's not that I don't take the lofi punk Moby sound seriously, it's
that I don't take Devo seriously. Anybody who does needs to find a new
hobby. :)
Speaking of "New Dawn Fades", I just got a clear 7" w/ that and "Whip
It (Death Metal Version)" on it. The thing is more plastic than vinyl,
it's thick and tough and can obviously stand a hell of a beating. It
says on the sleeve "will not play if excessively scratched". In the
inside ring, one side actually has 'Thanks To Jesus Christ" engraved
along w/ the catalog number, and the other has 'Stop Eating Animal
Products'. You have to look closely to see it.
Well, there goes more time than I have to spend on leisure activities.

OKay, enough of THOUSAND. I like that one. Isn't that weird?? I hate
the Whip-It, but I like Thousand ...
The WHIP-IT version is SO SLOW and GRINDING. Maybe I just haven't
listened to it enough. I listened to it once when I bought the "Come
On Baby" single and that was it. I'll pull it out when I get home (Uh,
that didn't come out right, but you know what I mean).
I like all the songs on AR except one ... I forget which because I
always skip the song. I think it's the 4th or 5th and it's pretty long
and WEIRD.
BTW - Who really likes the song "My Love Will Never Die" off of the
import/2cd or AR? I think it rocks.

Me, but I would.
Now I definitely have to hear 'Whip it'. Moby doing 'death
metal' - sounds interesting (let's see how many times we
can type death metal). I'm getting images of Napalm Death,
Paradise Lost, Slayer and such like....weird.

Did you know that there was actually a compilation 2CD in the Netherlands
(and I think Germany) that had Thousand on it?
The CD is called Thunderdome III.
It used to be a quite popular CD series because they made (I think) about
23 volumes (all 2CD! except for the Dutch volume 1)

Hmm, that must be the song "Soft"... I don't like it very much either.
It starts with a pretty cool piece of guitar, but the rest is like you said
WEIRD...

I like it too! I thought this song was on all AR releases, but I looked it
up
and indeed, it's only on the "import" (which is the "normal" version for me
because I live in Europe...) It is one of my favourite AR tracks!
It is strange they didn't include it on the US release...

If you don't know the original it's quite a sincere heavy hearted song...

Bart, thanks for inadvertantly catching my error - I just got both of
these and I confused them mentally. The clear one has "ATINITBL (HOS"
on side B, not "Whip It". The revolver 7" comes in a cool picture
sleeve with a cartoon demon head drawn by moby breathing fire. I say
'drawn by Moby' because it's the same style as the ninja, the idiot,
