so i went to the crobar where moby was kind of supposed to play a set or
something. i saw the ad myself and i was at crobar somewhere around 11:00
(was kind of late cuz a car flipped over). bad day. anyways i could just be
dumb or it really really sucks that i didn't see moby at the shut down crobar
that i saw.
at least i had into the blue (jon spencer's version) to listen to thru my
little ordeal. if you haven't heard this song or version of it, and you like
animal rights a lot you will probably love this version of into the blue.
idunno about the whistleing though. for some reason i had a disliking and
almost cringed every time into the blue came on. maybe because the first
version i heard of it is the jr.vasquez mix of it. i hatED it. sorry? having
heard the jon spencer one though shined a new light on into the blue i think
for me at least.
so?
um.. there is also a new skin of myne for winamp and i don't have a mac and, a
bit unclear as to if all i need to do is change the bmps to pics or what?
anybody?
i made it with a bmp of moby's face screaming i got from Steve G. and
enhanced. I have a big autographed blacklight glowin' autographed (and
drawing) poster of this pik not that you really wanted to know. you can see
the pick i used or enhanced or whatever at

The ad is in the Chicago Reader / the reader's guide for Friday, March
12th, the one with the Hong Hong Film Festival cover. The listing is
both on page 44 (it's got an "N*" for new listing) and also on the blue
Crobar ad on page 63. It says 4/16 --main room-- MOBY -- special dj
performance. The residents who will also be there are Roki, Phantom 45,
& Ryn w/ Collette. (who did a song with Sister Bliss) Sandra Collins
from Twilo in NY will also be there. There is no cover charge before 11
and the ad serves as a coupon for $5 until 12, but the ad doesn't list
the cover charge for entry after 11. There is no time listed for Moby's
set. The phone numbers listed are (312) 413-7000 and -7007. I've heard
Phantom 45 spin before, he plays jungle. I don't care for jungle so I
can't comment on his performance.

I really like this one! It looks very cool, IMHO. Except I don't
like the transparent border. Those transparent skins annoy me because
all kinds of junk underneath them shows through and makes things look
cluttered and unclear about where the skin really ends. But other
than that, it's a triumph!
And your modified Moby pictures are the bomb! Your embossed new Moby
logo looks so good I want to just go out and climb on it. :) And
that's neat how you made the old logo spin, and made the "Honey"
pumpkin colorful. Etcetera. Nice job.

Hey, it seems like moby is on a little promotion tour in Europe,
yesterday (Thursday March the 18th) he was on the Dutch radio
station Radio 3!
I didn't hear it myself, but a friend who knew I'm a big Moby
fan just happened to hear it and recorded it for me on MD from
cable radio. (good quality!)
I'll give some more details about the interview next Monday when
I have the MD.
PS. I'll finally know what "Run On" sounds like!!!!!

I called in to the campus radio station during their "Electronika" show and
requested The KLF's "What Time is Love?" or, alternatively, Moby's "All
That I Need..."
The DJ guy had never heard of The KLF (!).
And he played the H.O.S. mix of ATINITBL! After I requested the "MV" version!
My faith in this guy is destroyed. :(
Sorry for the rant.

Wow! And this is supposed to be an ele*******a show?! Incredible.
The KLF used to be played on mainstream radio and on eMpTV.

Why would he even have that version? Sheesh. Like banging away

I do, too, but it should be pointed out that not every college station
has a huge record library. Let's face it: most college stations have
pretty pitiful libraries. And not all of them have Djs with big record
collections. So my guess here would be that he had EIW but not the MOVE
EP. Pretty simple. And though I do prefer the H.O.S. mix I understand
wanting to hear MV instead. But Though it's frustrating you can't
necessarily hang the guy.

Are you referring to Modulations? It was released theatrically last year
and will be on video (Caipirinha is putting it out) on 5 May. It's got
Moby in it for less than ten seconds. As a movie it's really
disappointing, esp. if you know your electronic-music history. I'm not a
fan of it, put it that way. Basically, there's a lot of stock footage
timed to the beats, a device I found annoying. And too much of it is
reiterating stuff that's pretty common knowledge--do we really need Bill
Laswell to tell us that noise can be organized into music at this late
date?

wow. at Cd Cat? I normally find my Moby stuff at Black Planet, along
Queen West... normally the only thing i see at Cd Cat is I like to
score... then again you can find that *anywhere* in Toronto.
Umm... Rare collected B sides you seem to be able to get at just about any
HMV that's got an actual electronic section. its normally going to be very
expensive so you should be happy to have found it used. It might be
*slightly* cheaper at the big sam the record man downtown. i dunno. its
been a while since i priced this one out.

hrm... 13, eh? well i'll be willing to take 2 of those off your hands if
you want to work something out. i dunno what you'd want in return. drop me
a line sometime i guess. if youre livin in the toronto area it will be
easier to make a deal than other places i guess. oh well. peace.

I saw an item for sale that claimed to have a Moby remix on it. (it's
since been sold) It was a special Jon Spencer Blues Explosion Japanese
tour CD that is full of ACME remixes. (ACME is JSBE's brand new hip-hop
influenced album, I'm told) However, I thought that was a mistake since
Moby previously remixed Greyhound for the commonly found Remixes
Experimental EP. However, it seems that Moby actually HAS remixed
another song besides Greyhound, and it is a VERY recent release. (ACME
has been out for two months or so, the singles must be just as recent)
I'm currently awaiting my order for that vinyl 7" you refer to, and I'll
let you know what I think. Besides being remixed by Moby, the song, Wait
A Minute, was produced by Steve Albini, who produced Nirvana's In Utero,
among many others. Does anybody know if Albini produced the whole album?
So, it's on a Mute 7" and a Japanese limited CD. I expect it will turn
up in a more accesible medium soon.
It looks like Body Rock will come out when Play is released! :)
