i highly recommend sound forge. it's expensive, i guess, but it's
got some great plugins and is quite easy to learn. it's what i
use to make all my mix CDs (haven't done a moby one yet, though).

What up Mobility!
My name is Dan and I live in Philadelphia, I am 19 years old. I am a
big Moby fan and can't wait for the new CD to come out (whenever it
comes out), My favorite Moby CD is Moby, and seeing Moby live in
November of 97 was on of teh better shows I have ever been to.
Besides Moby, I love UW, BT, Deepsky, any Dave Seaman DJ stuff,
Orbital, GLU, Rammstein, lots of stuff.
So just thought I would say hi cause I am new. So I guess this has
been killed to death on teh list, but I would appreciate if someone
coulkd email me privately with any info on the upcoming CD. thanx!

anybody know anything about this?
CAPITOL Records releases the soundtrack to MIRAMAX's
ensemble romantic drama PLAYING BY HEART next week.
In addition to a jazzy score by OSCAR winner John Barry,
it includes a new song by LIVE's Edward Kowalczyk
paired up with Neneh Cherry, and previously-released
tracks from BRAN VAN 3000 ("Drinking in LA"), Ben Lee
("Cigarettes Will Kill You"), MOBY ("Porcelain"),
PJ Harvey ("Angelene"), Bonnie Raitt, MORCHEEBA,
CRACKER, GOMEZ, and others.
- JIVE's electronic label JIVE ELECTRO releases
the OLD Vs. NEW tribute on February 23rd, where
Norman Cook (Fatboy Slim) remixes A TRIBE CALLED
QUEST's "I Left My Wallet in El Segundo," HYBRID
remixes JAZZY JEFF & THE FRESH PRINCE's "Summertime,"
and both GROOVERIDER and RABBIT IN THE MOON take
turns with their own remixes of the STONE ROSES'
Madchester anthem "Fool's Gold."

What's Up. Been withou my computer for 3 weeks because i was back in America.
Anyway, I am sure this message was posted weeks ago, but if you still want to
know, I am back in Japan and will give you the scoop:
As for the Japanese writing, if there's a English section they're probably
identical. I've got a Japanese U2 CD that has liner notes in both languages,
and the Japanese section is bigger. AJ, isn't that you in Japan? What's the
scoop on translations?
Just tell me what you want to know. LAter.

I recommend Mutebank at http://www.mutebank.com/mute/bank/bank.htm
Also, there are a some links to online music stores that might have
it at http://www.moby.org/merc.html
I've also seen it on a number of occasions in music stores in the US.
It's a very worthwhile release with a lot of good music, much of which
is hard to come by.

whats play? no, not the new record club from columbia house....ITS THE
NAME OF THE NEW MOBY CD!!!!!!!!!!! YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
okay i was listening to the electro circus last night, and dave the
wave started the show out with that new moby song again. this time i
had about thirty seconds of tape on hand, so i taped i tiny-ass piece
of the song. heres how the lyrics (sung by moby) go:
"in my dreams i'm dying all the time
then i wake its (?????) mind
i never ment to hurt you
i never ment to lie
so this is goodbye
this is goodbye"
then theres this voice in the background that says something like
"fair.....woman" or something. and the music, well its kinda trippy
lite beats, lots of strings, and piano tinkle. its a little like into
the blue, but the melody is more reminiscant of novio, without the
gregorian chants or whatever. like i said, it kinda sounds a lot like
gus gus. especially the second verse, which features...gasp...a
vocoder! ive never heard a moby song with a vocoder before!!!!
and then the dj mixed it with "chicos groove" by the chemical bros.
perfect mix, it kinda sounds like that too.
a few songs later, dave did the first mic break and said some stuff
about the new moby. he said the name of that song was "porcelain" and
the name of the album was play. hre said moby wanted to name it after
the most common button on a cd player. damn, i was hoping it had to do
with drama.
well, i guess thats all i have to say. if you are so desparate that
you want to hear the clip i recorded, well, you could email me for my
number and schedule a time to call, then ill turn the stero up full
blast and annoy all the neighbors.........
but im not paying for a long distance call, so forget about it.
bye!!!!!!!!1

Paul,
This is great news! I can't wait to hear the new stuff. You've all
heard my story about experiencing "Honey (Westbam & Hardy Hard mix)" for
the first time in a club atmosphere and the how brilliant it was. How
great would it be to feel that excitement again?!?
I wonder who'll do the remix duties this time. There are so many
artists out there that could add to the fun. I have to admit I'd like
to hear Peter Rauhofer do something for Moby. Let's go PLAY!
Damian.
