if you are talking to me.....say so.....if you're talking to someone
else....say so>
when you're being so general about the old timers and newcomers
it really makes it an 'us' and 'them' argument
which just won't hold water.
(cause half us old-timers don't see eye to eye on that much...really)
the issue is:
whether we can discuss things on this list which go beyond the scope of
something which DIRECTLY pertains to one richard hall aka Moby
or whether we can discuss the things which moby has often
himself discussed>
i.e. vegetarianism, veganism, religion, jesus christ, sex, pollution,
hypocrisy, crime, ignorance, hate, music, culture, conformism,
capitalism, everythingism, nothingism,
and the right to be one's self without restrictions placed upon one's
mode of thinking or behavior
if it doesn't hurt the rest of society
and/or even if it does
(who decides?.....DEATH PENALTY)
and yea sir i have complained about the complainers
and i will say it again
i have a name and if you're addressing me
then do so....... let's not be hiding as you've suggested some of us
are.
we can be polite but let us also be DIRECT.
i am not suggesting we all leave the list
by no means!
what i was talking about was creating a forum which
MOBY FANS could freely discuss whatever the fuck they wanted to do
without some technocratic nerd going
let's please keep it to beats per minute and
information regarding the frequencies within the range of normal human
absorption dilation and
resuscitation...........
THAT"S WHEN I WANNA REACH FOR MY FUCKIN REVOLVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ya know tho
i don't even care
if you think this is exciting or even the least bit interesting
then fine>
i find more bloodletting and soul-searching amongst young and old on an
astrology list than with the likes of this
list at times>
we've reached the point of rock-star worship-discussion only
please........
and that is, in my estimation, everything that moby has stood against>
the only reason I DON"T GO
is that i'm not the kind of baby (and you did say "baby" didn't you?)
who runs away just cause i pissed someone off or just to prove
that i don't need you.
this is a fine list with many fine friends and fellow
humans that i don't always agree with>
they know who they are
as we often address each other by name>
so if ya wanna take this discussion outside (the list)
let's do so
and have FUN with it
THAT'S ALL I'M SAYING!!!!!!!!!
let's talk without some people shouting that we're not talking about
MOBY!!!!!!!
shit....if it wasn't for us there'd be NO ONE talking about moby!!!!!!!!
history:
this summer, i fell in love with this german woman who was bright and
beautiful....but i knew we were in trouble quite early when, during
about our fifth night of serious, but fun,
discussion/conversations....she starts talking about this little
european actress which she much admired because, as she said, "everytime
i'd read about her in the press, she'd always have something strongly
persuasive to say about feminism....."
at which point, i said, "well, that's great, let's talk about feminism!"
and she starts almost yelling " well....i certainly don't want to get
involved in a lengthy discussion about feminism just because i said
she was a feminist.........!!!!!" and that's how the rest of my summer
went>
and well....that's how i feel about now.
what i've always said was don't demand to talk about god if ya can't
tlak about the devil>>>>>>
they are part of the same old story.
and it is not that i'm venting my female troubles on you guys.......
as i'm okay with things as they are
(though i would never say no to any improvement that might come hither.)
there are times i do get bored with this list
and there are times when i really enjoy the list
like this last week....especially.
it was like people going off
and then complainers going off and then complainers complaining about
the complainers and before ya know it
we got this serious nutty but lively dance going on.
so xaQ?
whhadaya think?
giles?
killpatient?
simpson....plov? kelly/ april.....eli....ade?
brad?
dan?
greg?
all ya?
gingerbread?
damian?
can we talk?
anyway
hope your thanksgiving was as good as mine........
ours was small and tight and nutty and even had it's share of beefing
and hugging>
so just wanna let ya know
i love ya all
but even more when you're lively.
so wake up!
and as far as i'm concerned, all new-comers are totally welcome to do
what a young moby fan does>>
rave on.......(my delete button is in perfect order)

to be honest clay, I don't remember who wrote that 'homeless, annoying,
stinking person' comment but I had a reaction to it. what can I say? I had a
reaction and I wrote.
>and yea sir i have complained about the complainers
that was kind of a joke (perhaps not a very funny one?) about how everyone
lately seems to be in the business of complaining endlessly (like me for
example).
>i have a name and if you're addressing me

I don't suggest that anyone's 'hiding' per se. but, I just thought that
post, that I referred to earlier, stuck out like a sore thumb and I found
myself very....curious and reactionary about that. like I said, I didn't
recall who wrote that one; I deleted it a few days ago. It seemed
so....angry. which is great I suppose, however, it would've helped to know
WHO it was directed towards (did I miss some earlier post...is my ADD
kicking in again?) : {)>
>we can be polite but let us also be DIRECT.
that's my point too. perhaps you expressed it more clearly.
>the only reason I DON"T GO
>is that i'm not the kind of baby (and you did say "baby" didn't you?)
yes I did. again, not aimed at you or anybody in particular. not even meant
as an insult. btw: what do you think about the song? (that was the main
reason of my last post, hence the subject title).
thanks for the quick reply,
ok.

Just recently I visisted the new Virgin Megastore in Denver, CO. It is
really great...I was so overwhelmed I forgot what I was looking for, but
they did have many copies of Disk and AR w/ Little Idiot. Those where
the only two that I found that I had never seen before at any other
store. They also had a few of EIW, EOE (including the UK Import),
Ambient, ILTS and Ambient. I also saw Honey and Honey Remixes at a local
Best Buy...it was a pleasant suprise.
Just some of my findings if anyone is interested.

happy belated thanksgiving!!!!!!!
the crystal method....i think their remix of COB is _OK_. but i prefer
the original. mostly because of that guitar solo at the end, which is
just unplaceable in the techno version. thats one of the bad things
about techno, you cant really have guitar solos. i guess. maybe you
can. but not in like normal standard techno. of course, now that i
think of it, that CM song "comin back" has a solo in it. but i hate
that song.
i think the CM have sold out tho, with that gap ad and all. my friend
says they sued the gap for using their song in the ad (good for them,
if they did) but hes full of more BS than a farm, so i doubt thats true.
he says moby was once in a band called "moby and the bunnymen" and
when they broke up, he just went as Moby.
Yes, yes, ive heard of echo and the bunnymen, so dont even say, "paul
theres a band called echo..."
okay, i guess this sort of has to do with moby, sort of not, but ill
saay anyway. i had this dream last night that i was hearing this mix
of "Next is the e" and it featured a "set me free" sample, similar tto
the one in MBM's "prime audio soup", only sped up more, and/or female.
and the beats were very MBM-ish (you can easily tell jack dangers
beats apart from moby's, verdad?)
but somehow i kneew it was NITE. i dont know, it was weird. and
remember it was a dream. so it never happened anyway.
who knows. maybe my alarm clock radio turned on in the middle of the
night and they were playing a mix of "PAS". whatever. and i remember
asking on the net what mix it was. i asked some girl who isnt even on
mobility (forgot the name, cant think of why i would be emailing her)
and i remember steve giles might of had something to do with it.....
whatever. why anyone would care what goes on in my brain when im not
awake is beyond me.
take care. drink slow and drive milk. (dont ask its an injoke and
youre on the outside, as my annoying little brother annoyingly puts it.)

Chris, i just said that i prefered it over CDs because, to me, it sounds
better. this is my personal opinion and was NEVER meant as a challenge.
maybe i'm just nostalgic for an era that i wasn't alive in, but that's
just me. i'm sorry if you were hurt by my, and others, opinion about

what the hell is going on with this list? what seemed like a happy and
caring list a moment ago is now one big cat fight! i think i am now
totally lost as to why this is happening.
so, there was someone who wasn't happy with the posts of physical
description.. that's very common because there's always someone not happy
with something on this list. but, that's what makes this list unique.
there are bunches of minds behind this list and everyone has a different
opinion about something. if we cannot express that opinion, lessay about
a song or something, without being bitched at and subtly told that we're
stupid morons, then what the hell is this list good for? i thought that
this list was for people uniting under one common interest - liking
moby's music. now, this is the main common interest. over time, you
find that you have more than that one common interest with someone, or
many people, on the list and you want to explore new territory. every
post has the same thing in common- we all like moby. whether it is a
post of moby or non-moby, it doesn't matter because as i said earlier,
they are all related. curiosity is one of the many qualities of being
alive and if we are bitched at for being curious, well i'm sorry but you
can't supress nature like that. every person is different and brings
something different to this list. i enjoy talking to every one of you,
if if it's people bitching about stuff i've said, because i respect
everyone's opinion just like i hope they respect mine. if we're going to
be a list full of grudges and people nit picking about every little shit,
then i'm sorry but i will leave. i do not appreciate being bitched at
for shit like this and having to put my defenses up because someone has
had a bad day.
i know that there's more to life than just moby and i think we should
bring those qualities out. our day to day experiences make us what we
are and what we contribute to this list.
i know that i haven't been much of a contributor to posts lately, but
that doesn't change how i feel about this stuff. i've been shaking my
head over the last few posts lately and really wonder if all this
bitching is really worth it. it's almost like we're one dystunctional
family that's having one bad thanksgiving dinner (kinda reminds me of a
Springer show... i can see food flying every where!). all i can say is
that i hope that people will be nice and put their grudges aside because
to err is human, to forgive is divine. we all need to sit down and
really think for a moment about what we're actually fighting about. is
it really worth it? i, for one, don't think that stupid shit like what
someone looks like is worth breaking up this list for.. we've had this
thing far too long to ruin it now. besides, what do the newcomers think
of all this? for stuff like this to be their first post really makes
this list look bad.
i have enjoyed this list for as long as i have been on it, about half a
yr, and have learned a great deal about everything. people have pointed
me to new artists (which were non-moby posts) and have helped expand my
view of everything. there is something to benefit from this list, which
is knowledge and friendship. everything has its ups and downs, and right
now we;re at a down. let's try to take it back up.
now, i'm stepping off my soap box and turning off the dramatic, non-copy
right music and ending this self-help babble. i hope it makes sense.. i
tend to turn psychological at times. :) sorry this post was so long but
that's my thinking process for ya (especially before caffiene!)!!

I love all the remixes on that single and also the live tracks on
the first CD. Moby really give his fans a good deal, 30 minutes of
music on a single on the special edition. Also when I last saw him
live it cost me =A33 which is just unbeleivable. He is a superb,
inspired musician. No more really needs to be said I think.
Also all the unpleasantness on this list is quite childish and
unnecessary. Can we all just try to be civil?

I could not agree more with this. We are all different so lets enjoy
these differences and not be aggressive about it. We are all on this
list because of our love of Moby's music and we could perhaps do with
being on topic a little bit more but this does not preclude any other
subject. These other subjects are all part of life's rich tapestry!
