Calvin and hobbes rawk. I'm fond of Adam and The Far Side as well.
And, if you ever have time to kill in the comedy section of a bookstore,
try and find Tim Burton's The Melancholy Death of Oyster Boy. Cute
beyond words, in a everyday is halloween type way.

I like Robet Miles too. Unfortunatly so does my dad. He borrowed
my copy of Dreamland on a permanent basis without consent. The
way I finally got it back was trading him his copy of Bridge Over Troubled
Water (yeah its Simon and Garfunkel. SHUT UP!) for MY copy of Dreamland.
It's a really nice album. Peaceful. I like to listen to it when I'm
driving
(well, that or Rammstein... hehe) What's his latest release like? Anyone
care to comment?

Anyone who's up for an interesting
(although somewhat biased) read, check out "The Teenage Liberation
Handbook:
How to quit school and get a real life and education" by Grace LLewellyn.
She's a
former teacher so she should know what she's talking about. There's no way
I'm sending
my kids to school, especially after thinking about all the points she
brings up in her book.
They're also going to be raised in a completely vegetarian household, but
that's a debate
for another day.
Oh yeah. Its a somewhat hard book to track down. I found it at Tower
Records (of all
places!) in the anarchy section. Hmm... I think someone was a little over
enthousiastic
when shelving one day... Hmm... It should be right around that handbook
about how to
drive someone Insane. And no, I'm not joking.

I was bummed. Especially after I missed them on New Years a few years
back. Same
with Orb. Anyway... have fun. And by all means, feel free to sneak in a
camera and a
tape recorder and a video camera and... :) nevermind. Enjoy the show.

it's not current... and i would really advise that anyone who does have
moby's current address doesn't post it. not to cast any aspersions or
anything, but you never know what sort of people might see it here or in
the archive... i just don't think you should give people's home addresses
out... and that goes for us normals as well as the "stars"
best address to get letters to moby is:

Some of these posts recently have peaked my curiosity tenfold about what
some of you all look like. Every time I get a picture in my head it gets
blown away. Anyone else think about this?
I got Honey on vinyl a couple days, and I really like it--sparks my
interest in hearing the new album. I haven't listened to it enough times
to put out a full-blown critique so that's all I can say right now. The
cover's really sweet. It's nice having people over and hearing them
exclaim about how great that pumpkin looks. Then I can say, "Hell ya.
That's a Moby album."
OK. It's late.

Nope. Mom threw them out. And it wasn't REALLY carpet, it was blue fur for a
home-ec sewing project that LOOKED like carpet, but nobody knew the
difference. I can keep a secret if you can.

Allright! Say yeah!
What do I look like? (hmm...debating) I'm about 5'11', I weigh 180 (a guess,

shoulderblades, brown eyes. Can't do much better than that via email.
Sorry, I won't be bringing any recording equip to the show.

What do I look like? 6'0", 130 (very skinny, but no one has ever said
anorexic), brown hair, short on top, shoulder length in the back, blue-green
eyes (i'm the only person i've ever run across with them, anyone else?),
SWM, 20, usually wearing black (also my favorite color), often found in a
movie theater (not seeing movies, mind you, but working "behind the scenes"
as a concessions stand supervisor) or a computer lab. Agnostic but tolerant
of other religions.

Grace Llewellyn's books are priceless! Everyone concerned with our
education system and our children should definetly pick them up. She's
our generation's John Holt (who, also, makes very important points,
though his books are somewhat dated by now.)
Where i live (in northern Virginia) there are a lot of homeschooling
familes. Something that did almost scare me off, when I first started
homeschooling, was the fact that most of the homeschool groups were
"Christ-centered" but i found that a lot of the kids who were involved
with them were quite opened-minded about people (like me) who
homeschooled for non-religious reasons. In the past few years i have
seen a good amount of parents taking their kids out of school, because
of their disatisfaction with the system...as well as some kids, like me,
who initiated homeschooling to their parents themselves. (The Llewellyn
books, in fact, where what convinced my mom to let me homeschool, and
she eventually started homeschooling my younger sister, too.)
Today there's a lot of non-Christian support out there for
homeschoolers, such as the Clonlara School and Unitarian-Universalist
homeschool groups. I'm not going to say that dropping out of school and
teaching yourself at home is the best thing for everyone, but people
should realize that there are alternatives to traditional schooling...
Anyhow, sorry i broke my promise and posted more non-Moby stuff, but i'm
sure Moby would have a lot of things to say about our public schools.
Thanks for reading this.

hey it's been quiet here today. I think only Steve and Clay
told what they look like(?), so I'll go next. (If you don't care about
what I look like, hit delete now!)
I'm 21, short, I've got black hair but shave my head(usually), I wear
glasses :( . I'm sort of a grooming fanatic. and work out a lot although
I don't like to much. I'm not into wearing the "latest fashions"(like
wearing plaid shirts simply because everyone else is), but I
do really love clothes, and usually try to look my best because
you never know when some adorable girl is cumming around the corner.
Okay, that's it.
I got the Honey single today "Memory gospel" is awesome.
Does anyone know who did the vocals on it?
I keep getting this picture in my head of that big lady with the skunk
hair from that dorky "touched by an angel" show tv show doing
the vocals for it. And I can't make it stop.
Bye..
- -Anthony
p.s. to Ginger (or whoever brought this home-school thing up), I did the
home study thing too.
And I don't regret it(although I'm sure I missed out on a few fist
fights).

You know, I feel kind of bad about saying this, but I have a feeling that if I
was to run into to one of you guys on the street or whatever, I would have
absolutly nothing to say to you and probably forget about our meeting faster
than I "forgot" to pay my last apartment's rent. I am kind of glad that I can
talk or at least watch (since I have been in Japan, I havn't been able to post
much) to sort of a different crowd. I didn't have a clue that Steve Giles was
whatever way he was and that kind of suprised me, but you know it makes me
think that maybe i shouldd have spoke to the outcasts when I was in school. I
get the feeling that most of you didn't or don't play sports, didn't get great
grades in school, and kind of keep to yourselves. That is fine with me, but I
just wanted to say that I am gld that I am on this list and can kind of
communicate with some people who I normmally would not talk to because of we
would have nothing to talk about. Anyway, I am not looking down on anyone, and
I don't feel like I am in any posistion to do so, I just wanted to voice my
opinion. Later.

Oh my God you just reminded me of how I looked when I was
22, well my hair anyway (I was, and still slightly am,
skinny too though, but blue eyes that sparkle, or I like
to think they do)! I don't think it suited me, however. I'm
always changing my style. I had it like Moby a few times,
but keep growing it out into this messy, waxed Thom Yorke
look. I even had a 'Cure-head' once, when I was 17 and a
bit of a goth.
Dear Lord, I MUST be a woman trapped in a man's body!

Yeah, Pete Tong, J.J. and occasionally Marrianne Hobbs and
co. are pretty good too. There's a BBC world service, but I
can't imagine any of radio 1's stuff being broadcast on it?
I wonder, as I've never tuned into the world service. So
they had audio archives on the internet? Pleading ignorance
