YYYYYYYYO!
First of all, whoever said about this....
THERE IS NO FUCKING CHANUKAH BUSH!!!!!
somebody made this up so it would look like we had a version of a
christmas tree. as if we were trying to compete with christians. we
are not trying to compete with christians. maybe there is a reason
chanukah and christmas are close to each other, i dont know, its
probably real obvious. but don't talk about a chanukah bush ok?
AND PLEASE DONT TURN THIS INTO A THREAD/DISCUSSION/ARGUMENT/VERBAL
BEATDOWN.
sorry if i sound mean today, im really not. actually, im smiling, im
quite happy, i swear! and im not depressed listening to elliott smith!
AAAAAAAAANYWAY, i hate the word electronica. (my parents use it now,
its so Ick.) i hat the word techno. of course, my definition of
electronica is diffrent than any1 elses. i think elec... is what most
people call "big beat", (a term i also h8) which is chem-ish
breakbeats, lots of squiggly noises....chems are the ideal
"electronica/big beat" artists. i probly call "big beat" stuff
"electronica" because i dont use the term "big beat". but i never use
the term "electronica" any way. besides, most trendy lil' hip kids who
listen to "electronica" (every1 elses definition) listens to mostly
"big beat" anyway. i mean thats whats most popular in this shithole
country with no good taste in music. if you can call it popular.
GOD i sound mad. sorry.
but i mean really, does Brian Eno or, like FAX stuff scream out
"Electronica!" when you hear it? i dont think so. Junkie XL and Fatboy
Slim do.
besides, labels suck. if all the records were in one section, id
recognize by name anyway. or sound. i dont buy records cuz the title
sounds cool. unless their at the goodwill store. course, im only a kid.
anyway, that wiretrip thing didnt work for me either. Whuzzup man?
andy davis....luv that Ryu-ish sig!!! you should dip back into the
archives and use one of his Alec Empire or Prince sigs for a real
tribute. anyone know his birthday? we could make it a holiday, right
up there with Moby day! wait, we don't have a Moby day. well we
shoul. but i guess its still a bit late for that, right?
Ick. message too long. must leave now. bye.

hi all,
could i be the only one who thinks 'micronesia' is a stellar track?
i just made a tape, this one will stick for a while (i usually make 3-4 a
month):
side a:
selected tracks from 'sunday 8pm' faithless
side b:
for an angel (angel in heaven radio mix)-paul van dyke
for an angel (e-werk club mix)-paul van dyke
next is the e (invisible brothers mix)
hymn (this is my dream)
shining
micronesia
honey (rollo & sister bliss blunt edit)
feeling so real (main mix)
into the blue (voodoo child mix)
dog heaven (uk album version)
that paul van dyke track is absolutely beautiful, in a non-cheezy robert
miles kinda way>
anyone know what his new record is like? saw the 2cd set of his latest...
loving my five moby shirts. all of them.
peace love and pitbulls,

how many vids doess moby have?
muchmusic is pretty cool. better than our stupid channel here. but not
as cool as M2 (coolest channel in the world)
but i only watch AMP cuz its the only game in town. that show sounds
pretty cool, tho, on much.
i requested that AMP play moby many times, and theyve played jbt and
go. but ive really hounded them to straighten up and fly right. theyve
imporved some over a few weeks ago, but it still isnt good like the
old amp when they did the credits in their special AMP font.
whatever. i think i made a difference, so telling these guys to make a
difference might help.
rolling stone has a video-on demand thing. it has tons of atr vids,
tons of manson videos, but no moby! yall should request some.
bye. hey this one was moby-related!!!!! ;)

To the turntable question: I use Gemini PT-2000s. Next best thing to 1200s,
in design they're just as good but certain parts are plastic as opposed to
the Technics metal, therefore they have a shorter lifespan and less
durability. But great tables nonetheless.
I haven't heard the Honey B-Sides yet! I'll get the 2 CDs soon enough, I
hope.
I like your tapes, Dan! I have the US Words/For An Angel remixes 12", are
those the same as on your tape, do you know? I like them too. I'm planning a
tape like yours with many of the same trancy techno type songs.
I like my three Moby shirts. Even though I can't wear the tank top. My
favorite is a light blue v-neck t-shirt, short sleeve, with white
'sweatpants' style thick stripes ringing the sleeves, and a flourescent
orange old moby logo embroidered on the left breast.
Great quote, Paul S. LOL.

Well i guess that i have sat out long enough. Ive been reading
everything thing that comes across my e-mail every day and have said
nothing......so now is the time.
the deal with cd clubs??????? Who cares this is an arguement that i
have seen and listened to for a while now and my feelings are that if
an artist isnt going to boycot a company then they must be getting
some thing out of it and that means that i dont go sticking my nose
there
The lable that "suits" have put on the music .......again who cares it
dosent matter to me if what i listen to is called "flap jack run
around crack jack crap"....its music and if it makes you feel good and
you conect with it thats great but getting all pissed because
somebody(s) gave it a lable is pretty childish.
the debate of MTV honestly Mtv happens to be the only station around
that we can see videos by Daft Punk, Orbital, Meatbeat, RSW, Dj Punk
Rock, ect ect... I think that we should embrace this program and push
for more nights on MTV.....face it if your concerned about the "music
form",going comerical....well wake up and turn on your tv....Djs
groups and yes even Moby have had their music being used to shop us
items. So embrace this form and try to make it better or...push Much
Music into programing.
Any way now that is all out of the way my name is Brian and I live in
Conn Im 25 and have been a fan of Mobys for quite some time. I have
met the little idiot a few times and have a few cartoon drawings from
him.
I just recently got the honey cds and they are incrediable i cant wait
for the whole album.
my music goes all over the place from the smits to low,
from slayer to Faithless.
So i will start to write some more this seemed to make me feel a
little better.
peace and love

does winamp really do compression/expansion of the song as it plays it?
damnit, those programmers really hit all the bases, eh?

.au isnt a compression scheme? i gotta try it out now.....with small
files :)
<time passes> ohhh, in cooledit you can save .au linear pcm style.

i can up you a copy of version 1.5 for your evaluation if you wish.
i still havent gotten a chance to eval ver 2.0 yet, but i have it.
i wrote:
>> sound limit allows you to encode joint stereo
<from cool96 help file:>
Joint Stereo: For stereo files, choosing Joint Stereo will combine the
lower frequency bands and encode them as if they were mono with some
extra information so the decoder can still place the audio into the
proper channels. Normally, one cannot tell the difference between audio
saved with Joint Stereo or without, except for the fact that with Joint
Stereo in effect, it may sound better, because there will be more room to
save information about the higher frequencies.
(interesting last sentence, eh?)
>>dual channel
still a mystery...anyone?
>> it allows for model 1 or 2 psychoacoustics
Psychoacoustics: This refers to the way a person perceives audio, and
the model used determines which frequencies are assumed to mask other
frequencies. That is, if a certain sound cannot be heard over another,
that sound is not saved. In tests, it seems that Model 2 (AT&T) sounds
best, but you may wish to try each model and compare since it may also be
heavily dependent on the type of audio being compressed.
(thanks a lot for this conclusive help :P.....encode twice and see which
is "better")
>> decoder de-emphasis
De-emphasis for decoder: If the audio has been pre-emphasized, you
should choose the type of de-emphasis you would like the decoder to
perform. CooláEdit has no pre-emphasis functions, so in general this
option should be set to None.
(anyone know how to tell if your audio has been pre-emphasized? almost
sounds like a dolby scheme)

i dont recall, ill check their website (http://www.dnttm.ro/edc) and see
if they boast that it does or boast that their codec is better :)

i used to use mp3 producer, but it only supports bitrates up to 128, so
after i found soundlimit, i switched.

okey dokey, ill give it a shot over thanksgiving, too much homework till
then ;P

I have to agree with April. Some people are so god-damned closed minded!
It's like, "normal society is evil, but my little nitch is special!"
I, personally, have found (many)"ravers" , or whatever you might call them,
to be some of the most closed minded people involved in music. Peace, love,
and togetherness? yah, right. It's all about who's the coolest: dancer, dj,
musician, dresser, etc. I don't have a job in which I have to wear a suit,
but I've met a lot of nice & interesting people who do. True open-mindedness
means embracing everyone: the "suits", the "junkies", the "ravers", every
little clique has it's bad and good seeds (I suppose someone will want to
argue about what constitutes bad and good...). but, like April, I'm
disturbed that people can, so easily, label someone as evil based on the
clothes they wear. It seems a little immature, eh?
I'm sorry to be negative but occasionally people say things that agitate me.
that's my $.02.
