I'm going to have to leave the charity donations to the people
that can feed and cloth themselves. If it wasn't for my girlfreind
I'd be homeless, I'm a charity case myself. My job is part time
and doesn't even bring in enough for my half of the rent- there
just won't be anything for donating...if I ever get an extra
20 bucks you will find me at the record store and I will make
no apologies.

I tried emailing him right away after he said he was
leaving and have heard nothing. There wasn't much warning,
and aside from hardware problems it's a complete mystery.
I would guess something life changing in his personal relationships
could cause such a retreat. I'm sure it's not our fault and
probably has very little to do with email or sho records either.
I would bet someday he'll be back, and I'm sure he's doing whats
best for himself right now.
Sorry to Tim for making more charity comments, I didn't read ahead
in my mailbox...I would love to contribute tocharity if I could
afford it.

Greetings! Okay, here is the new plan:
I am currently swamped for the next week but will be hitting this thing
hard-core the following week. I plan on using the 'net as the
coordination point for everything, and you'll be able to see the web site
for updates.
Write these down:
http://moby.wiretrip.net
ftp://moby.wiretrip.net/pub/incoming
These will go up on Sunday - THEY ARE NOT ACTIVE NOW. Don't try going
there 'cause it won't happen...wait till Sunday. These will be the two
places used to coordinate this beast. I will move and post all cover art,
current contributors, names and sizes of tracks, destination times, voting
sections, etc. on the web site. I will be accepting tracks in two ways:
1. via snail-mail (US postal - e-mail for an address)
2. via the FTP site (preferred)
All tracks should go into /pub/incoming. YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO SEE THEM
IN THERE. Its a deposit-only bin, not a distribution point. People doing
tracks, when completed, can FTP them into that directory. Only I will be
able to access them (for now).
I'm thinking deadline for track entries around Dec 15th. Does this work
for everyone?
> As for track obligations, e Del Norte, it would be great if you set up a

Feel free to do this as well, but I will be keeping moby.wiretrip.net
updated.

Let's see what we get in and then we'll go from there. This could be a
lot of space. The site will hold it, but we'll have to see....

Cool. I'll grab these and post'm on the site. However, Ade, if you want
to stay the lead on the cover art, by all means, do so! I'll just post
what you send me.

This is going to be cool - I'm excited.

Whomever needs to know,
I am thinking (read - need to convince my little brother to handle some
instrumental parts) about reworking "New Dawn Fades" for Thanks 2. This is
still in the highly preliminary stages, tho, so don't expect it before Dec.
1 if all goes well. Besides info that has come across in the last 24, is
there anything else I need to know (format, etc.)?
Thanx

You need to specify what format it needs to be in!
I would suggest cd-r audio with WAV digital as well for mail,
and 256 kbps stereo MP3 format for the FTP site.
Unless you have and can accept DATs, which would be great.
If we need to vote, we should have realaudio files for fast
download to listen to.
I have lots of web space on my own server I can offer if
it takes up too much room.
I would really like to see the deadline be Dec. 31, but I'm only
speaking for myself- I tend to lag and do things last minute and
I haven't even started on my track yet, I'm still deciding.
But we need that list of contributors/songs so we don't end
up having 2 people wearing the same dress at the ball.
