i have 98 on this computer that i'm using and it doesn't even register
that it's an enhanced CD, just an audio CD. so.. i dunno if that's a CD
rom driver problem or if it's 98. just thought i'd mention that!

Eo, Mobydicts:
This noon, I've gone home to have lunch and see my parents (these days
it's hard for us to meet), and have reserved a while to listen to some
songs of Honey.
I put my headphones (they save my life each day, they save me from being
hanged by my family/neighbours :), started first song of Honey Cd... and..
I thought I knew Moby music style, but now I know how wrong I've been
all this time... I couldnt imagine this song to be Moby's if I didnt
see the case/disc... "Boogie nights" came to my mind, dont ask me why... :)
It just took time to listen second track (Micronesia?), the Rollo &
Sister Bliss Blunt, and again the original track...
BTW, do you know something about mixer of original version ? I felt it to
be strange that another person worked into Moby's own work...
Later,

have heard that it worked fine on a MAC. I think MACs are better at that kind

I think that the words are: ever honey come back, sometimes. I'm over it,
sometimes.
I could be wrong (sorry for bad English, U know what I mean) but Iit was a nice
try.
Everybody who knows better is welcome with suggestions!
ps: Maybe it's a trick from Moby. Maybe he wants us to discuss about him and his
songs.
ps2. why do you want to know the words in Honey? Is music not enough?

Welcome everyone to the list! I'm glad you're here.
For those who haven't seen the Honey pumpkin cover, it's at moby.org now.
The reason that I would want to know the honey lyrics is because it's an
extremely singable song. I've noticed that I slap my thighs is beat w/ the
tune. It's stuck in my brain.
I'll probably get Disk sooner or later, but the headaches involved in
running the program as intended isn't my idea of fun. I think I'll go for
Ambient next. Despite the fact that these are unfinished pieces, I'm sure
I'll enjoy them since Moby's subdued work always goes over quite well with
me.
Somebody hit up Tower for Moby stuff. Copies of Rare, Moby, ILTS & BBMH have
all been snatched from the racks after an extended tenure. People are
catching on! My sister is a country fan, mostly, but she's recently been
taken by Feeling So Real. She likes that "vacuum sound". So do I. I hope I
get my single back from her one day.
Has anyone else noticed that Lopez - "Fucked Up" is essentially a Voodoo
Child mix of "Emptiness"? Compare w/ the VC mix of Into The Blue and the
self-titled version on Rare.
"Emptiness" also uses that wierd "garbled transmission" noise as the intro
to "Come On Baby"?, with less garble. I like making these connections.
Somebody else mentioned this as the intro to "Soft", but I'm not sure which
song this sample is on from AR.
Off-topic stuff: I've got the BT 2x12" for Love, Peace, & Grease. I'm buying
a Mantronix record because of his excellent remix. BT is nifty. I also have
the promo for Faithless' God Is A DJ, which Paul mentioned a couple weeks
ago. It's got choir voices and he says "This Is My Church". Remind you of
anything? Seriously, tho, it's not a ripoff. It's very good.
Daniel, let me know when you're up & running, plz.
The lyrics are altered & rearranged in some mixes, here's two lines, maybe
all together we can come up w/ the entire verse Bessie sings.
"I wanna ??? like that, sometime.." (rap?) anachronistic (man?) maybe
"I'm goin' over, yeah, sometime.."

I don't know if this happens to anyone else, but when I play Moby or anything
else for someone who hasn't heard it before, the first thing they always ask
is "What is he/she saying?" Of course, I never know either, and even though it
is great to sometimes make up your own lyrics that don't make sense, but sound
the closest to what you think, I would like to know what he is actually
saying. Later.

I totally agree with that. I was so excited when I found it in the
store and now i cant even use it. i tried it on a mac at work and it
worked fine but didn't get a chance to explore it much. I assumed if it
worked there it would work on mine...wrong. Anyway, an updated version
would be awsome, maybe then more people would get the opportunity to
explore all that DISK has to offer.

WWMD stands for "What Would Moby Do?" It's sort of like those shirts that
say WWJD, as in "What Would Jesus Do?" I guess it's kind of a little
in-joke, seeing that Moby's Christian and all.

Ok...got it. Actually Conan O'Brien did a little "What would Conan do"
sketch....I don't know if anyone caught it or watches him...but it was
pretty funny.
Oh yeah, someone just wrote about what people say when they hear
moby for the first time. i had come on baby playing in my room and my
roommate thought it sounded like a miami vice type song. What?!
anyway..thought I'd write that lil tidbit.

Actually, one of the first things I did with my PowerMac 7200 was play that
CD. No problems with it, other than the interface was crap and the
interview clips are poorly edited. No problems with Mac OS 7.5 through 8.1.

Musicians may tend to use Macs, but the majority of the public doesn't, and
that's who buys the CDs.
I don't know about a reissue of Disk. I've seen it work how it should on
the Mac and wasn't very impressed at all. Maybe if they updated the
concept and layout and all that too. I like the videos though, and the
music tracks--esp. "Shining."

That is called Mondegreen :) When you misunderstand what lyrics are
on a song. Found the term in Yahoo some months ago.

I've been searching the net for "Bessie Jones", and "Sometimes". Couldnt
find that song on the two records you can find on CdNow or MusicBoulevard.
I found it as a record released by Atlantic Records, but nothing more...
