  141. i gotta say, its fukkin weird. mobys dancin around playin piano and
  142. theres all these weird things floating around too. 
  143. and he has hair. he kinda looks like a cross between david bowie like
  144. 20 years ago and thom yorke from radiohead. also reminds me of mike
  145. stipe when he had hair.

  147. anyway, how many videos does moby have? i've seen 4 of them:go,
  148. revolver (aka "thats when i realize its over"), jbtheme (which amp
  149. played a few weeks ago), and this is my dream (saw it on the internet
  150. last week).

  152. amp is cool again. i used to think it would totally suck because they
  153. show the credits for the ideos like they normally do on mtv. but this
  154. week they played a whole bunch of new stuff and old stuff they never
  155. played before. like they played praga khan "injected with a poison"!

  157. anyone? how about swayzak?)

  169. was on (woohoo!) and it was awesome, they were talking about
  170. negativland! the host max tolkoff quoted them and the band was like,
  171. oh yeah, negativland, and one guy said "this is the story of a dog!" i
  172. was howling! awesoem. and they made a simpsons reference too! "you're
  173. gonna make kwazy kwown industries the laughing stock of the season!"
  174. or something like that. whatever. anyway it was funny.

  296. The first two Moby CDs I got were Animal Rights and Everything is wrong. I got
  297. them both from BMG and so I wasn't worried if they sucked. I listen to Animal
  298. Rights, hated it, and almost threw it and ETIW away. But, yesterday, I was in
  299. Las Vegas and went to the Virgin Megastore and finally found the 2CD Animal
  300. rights. The Little Idiot CD is kind of boring actually, but I listened to it
  301. in the car and usually like sometime faster then. But, I put in the Animal
  302. Rights, and damn, it is really good. Is this one different than the regular
  303. AR? I don't know, but it seems to have instantly grown on me. Later.

  372. self-titled cd, the label as Mute/Elektra (hmmm...) and Moby himself
  373. as the vid director. But if you go to mtv's cheesy amp site at

  375. it lists an (incorrect) playlist, which lists the director as N/A and
  376. the label as "Rhythm King". whats up with that?

  507. One odd thing I noticed about moby is that his was the only music that 
  508. my daughter would listen to for a long time.  She'll listen to just 
  509. about anything without complaining now, but for her first few months, 
  510. all she would listen to without crying was EIW.  Rave's crying?  Put on 
  511. some moby, instant contentment.  I'd assume it's because the music's so 
  512. soothing, but she liked Heavy Flow and it's ilk as well.  Half the time 
  513. we could only get her to sleep with some moby in the CD player.

  517. Well, the point to this little diatribe is, has anyone else noticed 
  518. anything even similar to this?  Babies, kids, whatever?  I guess there's

  548. up animal rights by mixing all the rock and ambient stuff on the same disc
  549. for the US release. Separated on to two cds, AR/LI is the yen and yang of
  550. Man's dualistic nature. You've got the loud, nasty, "animalistic" side (and
  551. a nearly perfectly symmetrical side that is as well) balanced by the
  552. spiritual, contemplative virtues man can strive for. A stretch? Maybe. But
  553. as good a take on the record as anyone else has come up with.

  573. A lot of us take pride in the extremes found on EIW and how well they
  574. worked.  But I couldn't handle them when it came to the US version of
  575. Animal Rights.  The presentation of the two styles on two CD's was
  576. great, i.e. the UK release.  I find it interesting that Moby decidedly
  577. favors the US version over the UK version.

  597. I think this issue has already been brought up, but I prefer the US
  598. version, for what was discribed as a "roller coaster" of music, an ambient
  599. track or two followed by his hard stuff.  I find it much more convenient
  600. to have them on one CD instead of messing with two.
