Oh dear....
Aphrodite-are we familiar with this guy? (aka Mickey Finn, Urban
Takeover)...
nine inch nails: the perfect drug (Aphrodite Mix)
Jungle Brothers: Jungle Brother (Aphrodite Mix)
Jungle Brothers: Jungle Brother (Urban Takeover Mix)
Blackstreet: No Diggity (Aphrodite Mix)
Alabama 3: Woke Up This Morning (Urban Takeover Mix)
Espiritu: You Don't Get Me (Urban takeover Mix)
*EVERY* single mix he does starts with a bit of a funky kick which lasts for
a minute or so, then goes into this bass-heavy rolly beat jungle thing. You
could mix together every Aphrodite mix and not be able to isolate the
breaks...
On a silly note, I just realized that there's another thing to add to my
list of Moby/nin relations...
They've both remixed David Bowie, covered Joy Division, and been remixed by
Aphrodite. (now if only they'll work together...)

CDNow lists the disc on sale for $12.99 thru 4 Aug. You can also get it for
$12 direct from the band's label's online record store
(http://www.NSoul.com/musicorder - where they list the band as Christian
music's answer to Moby, which I find funny since Moby is a musician who is
also a Christian.
Of course, it occured to me while I was running the search that when you say
you couldn't find it, you meant an actual physical store's computer and not
online shopping. To find it in a real store, you may have to walk into one
of your local religious bookstores (why people buy records from a
*bookstore* is beyond me, but that's another discussion) where you will find
the record shelved in the back of the store behind the chocolate Bible
display, obscured by the testamints rack and generally hidden behind a wall
of WWJD merchandise.

I think Moby Grape is an old rock band that has been around since
the late sixties. It usually turns up when I do a search for
Moby in online music stores. Sorry to disappoint you...
regarding the "moby import"... i know there is a group called 'Moby Grape' here
in the US. I am not sure of what kind of music it is, but i think it may be
hip-hop or rap. i am guessing that the cd you found is not our beloved Moby,
but rather 'Moby Grape'.
Something else completely, Moby Grape Is.

"Honey" will be released in the UK and Europe on August 24th; at present
there is no release scheduled for the US or the rest of the world. The
song is seemingly a departure for Moby in that it owes more to hip-hop
than dance music or punk. The vocals were recorded in the deep South of
America in the 1930s by folk historian Alan Lomax.
Mixes come from Rollo & Sister Bliss, Aphrodite & Mickey Finn, Westbam &
Hardy Hard, Sharam Jey, RJ, Bammer, and Moby himself. The video was
recently filmed in London with Roman Coppola.

I got Drop a Beat Saturday, w Electricity, Deep Mix & Brainstorm
Mix. What are the final destinations of these? I'm pretty sure both DAB
mixes turned up on albums later w/o the Deep or Brainstorm titles. I
know there were versions on Moby & Rare.
I got the US promo 12" of JBT. I love the CJ Bolland mix! Great
stuff, I recommend. I don't really like the one my bud had, w/ D.
Tenaglia & LSG, & Grooverider I think. I heard a Danny T. CD and it
sucked badly. His mix is a lullaby, I agree w/ Xaq.

Hey I asked this a while ago and nobody answered what do you think
about the song "Slight Return"? i think its one of mobys best songs. i
think if i could play one moby song on the radio i would pick this one.
what does anyone else think?
oh yes, i never mentioned this, i kept telling myself to...has anyone
heard the new faithless yet? probably not, because the word on the
wire is that it wont be out till fall! at the earliest! but....my
local electronic music dj on my local rock station is playing it
anyway! the single is called "God is a DJ" and its kinda trancey, like
"insomnia" but i like the new one better. the words rock, there isnt
like any verse/chorus/verse or anything, not like insomnia, but theres
this part in the middle where he says like, "This is my church. this
is where i heal my hurts. For tonight, God is a DJ." well its really
cool and i know youll all hear it sometime soon. and the album,
"Sunday 4 PM" (or something...not sure) should be out soon too.
probably after the single.
about the survey (top 3s) well its kinda hard to add it up cuz not a
lot of people voted, i mean compared to the number of people on the
list. but some of the top cds were: Goldie (woo hoo!), Mu-ziq,beastie
boys, ryu, crystal method, ummm a couple more dont have a list w/ me
:) and im surprised i was the only 1 who voted 4 Thanks! hmmm..... bye

I love "Slight Return". It's one of my all-time favorite Moby
tracks. But if I could play only one Moby song on the radio, it
would be one of his dance tracks that would really make people jump
up and get interested in Moby. Actually, it would probably be "All
That I Need Is To Be Loved (MV)", which is at the same time one
one of his coolest-sounding and most powerful tracks.

Since there are currently no plans to release it in the USA, who knows
if it will ever be released here? My guess is that if it's a big hit
in England, it will eventually be released in some form in the USA.
Of course, the single will be orderable from CDnow and many other
stores. Good offline music stores will stock it as an import. It
will just be harder to find and more expensive than if it were
released domestically.

Woo hoo!!! I got the Mute "Honey" promos today!!! =-)
"Honey" is a funky hip hop song with drums, piano, and samples
from Bessie Jones' recording "Sometimes". I think it's groovy,
and definitely worth picking up when it's released next month.
I may do a track-by-track review soon, but I figured I wouldn't
keep everybody waiting on the preliminary info. The single is
coming out on two CDs and a 12". In addition to that, there are
two promo CDs and three promo 12"s. You can't miss the cover of
Honey. It has a big orange pumpkin with a face carved into the
top, against a black background. The remix CD single is the
same, but the pumpkin is red.
Here are the track listings for the 24 August UK release:

This was from Daniel's post a few days before... which was sent to him

Yes. Vocals are by some woman (Bessie Jones?) and they are triggered
repeatedly to sound rap-like. It's hard to describe. There is no
singing, just these continual female vocal samples that go very well
with the music. It's at once bluesy and encouraging. I'm not sure
exactly what Bessie Jones' and Alan Lomax's contributions are.
Perhaps DEF can clear this up. (?)

To invoke a message when one has nothing to say one must often think
about nonsense.
Poll questions: (please don't answer them)
How many Moby CDs can you juggle at one time?
Without their cases? (be careful not to scratch or drop them if you try
this at home, kids)
What does Everything Is Moby spelled backwards mean to you?
If you had a Moby dress up doll, what hair style would you put on him?
Why do you think he used a pumpkin for the Honey single instead of
squash?
Instead of any other vegetable? (actually pumpkins have seeds, they must
be a fruit)
Did you ever wonder why Moby __________ (fill in whatever you like)
