hey, don't start with any anti-paul sentiments
see I'm paul #2 or 3 or something, i think there are like
four on the list...help me here paul's!!!
Anyway, that was me that spoke of the great whistle war

right to whistle to thier hearts content if they want,

I was playing around with a new wav editor for windows a friend of mine set
me up with and I replaced the Jamaican rapper guy at the beginning of
Feeling So Real with the Take Me Aways at the beginning of the Westbam mix.
I sent an mp3 of the song to a few friends and they all said they liked that
better than the album version. Is this just the few of us, or does everyone
find Kochie Banton annoying?

How do you know that it's really Moby? Also, is there any way for
us non-AOLers to look at AOLers' profiles?

exactly... how do u know this is moby? didn't he quit online because he was
swamped with e-mails and stuff? why would he then go an aol as Iammoby?
there's a bunch of fans that go under the handle of their fav. musicians,
and this could be one of them. heck, sometimes they even put the musician's
info. on their profiles! there was a guy on aol a while ago who was under
the handle Madonna. he pretended to be her. so... how do we know this is
moby?

i agree that this is something to be skeptical about. first of all, why
would he try to make himself known by the handle "Iammoby"? seem a little
odd? i think it does. i think he would have chosen a more creative name
like he does when releasing an album under a pseudonym. that's just my
opinion. perhaps someone should try e-mailing this "moby" and checking it
out....

i'm glad someone brought this up, because i've always felt that the
vocals on a lot of Moby's music really destract from the music itself,
mostly because they're awful. Personally, i really find Kochie Banton's
vocals extremely annoying, and i'm not a fan of the screaming divas
either. My own opinion of EYTM: it's a great song but it's nearly
spoiled by this Kochie guy jumping in. And how about Next is the E, I
Feel it? The track is incredible, the piano riffs send chills down my
spine: but that shrill singing girl really cuts down on my enjoyment of
that song. imho...we all agree Moby's music is beautiful, but those
vocalists really push the cheese factor, don't they?
..............one other thing. DOes anyone have a recording of when
Moby was on Modern ROck Live last winter??? I would LOVE to hear that
again....if anyone can help me out here, please e-mail me privately.

I LOVE those vocals - one of my favorite. I think it's safe to say that we
each like Moby for different reasons and different parts of Moby. I'm sure
that there isn't anything that we all hate in Moby. At the very least,
Moby himself must have had some reason to put something in a song.

ONCE, I let one of my friend's borrow EIW trying to get him into it,
and he felt the same...he said he doesn't like that Donna Summer crap.
The divas do get old, but I've found I get used to them too.
I like Moby's vocals the best!

it just goes to show how one person's cheese can be another's
gem.
i've read moby saying that he really really loved working with truly
great singers
so we could imagine that he liked the vocals he included
on the tracks>>>>>>>
anyways
it's all kind of a moot point now>
i hope he continues to do great stuff with and without
vocals so we all can have more to talk about

With the Disk ECD, I've also had problems running it under Win95. It seems
to think it is just an audio CD, because I opened up the "My Computer" menu
and looked at the CD icon, and it started playing the music. The only
solution I could come up with is to run it on a computer using Win 3.1.

I've only seen Moby in concert once, and it was in CONCERT. It wasn't a
club, but a big Earth Day concert a local radio station put on right
after "That's When I Reach For My Revolver" got big. I guess they
decided he'd go over well enough with a big alternative crowd. Point
is, he played a couple of songs that I've never heard him do anywhere
else. Has anyone else heard Moby do "Paranoid" by Black Sabbath or a
song called "Wonderbread" that he said he wrote when he was 8 (or so)?
If anyone knows where either of these songs can be found, could you get
back to me?
