  45. I'm afraid I was a bit premature in mentioning the Moby on Dutch-tv
  46. website: it should be working better now, and sorry for any crashes.
  47. Well, what more can I say: Dutch tv is only to be seen in Holland and
  48. Belgium...and I guess all you guys don't
  49. read any Dutch.
  50. But anyway, it was nice staying on the Mobility list during my research
  51. period. You guys are too much!

  92. How many CDs? There been way more other traffic besides that. Looking for

  134. There's nothing wrong with radio music. Not the music itself, anyway.
  135. Certain acts do tick me off in that they are more of a product for sale than
  136. a piece of music meant to express something. My 'problem' with with
  137. mainstream culture isn't an all- encompassing thing, it's very specific.
  138. Take the Spice Girls. I don't see talent or expression, I see a catchy,
  139. shiny, flashy commercial. They're not ashamed of this either, they
  140. practically wear it on their sleeves. I like music to be something more
  141. meaningful than that. I suppose I resent the lack of care people I know put
  142. into the music they listen to. It all started with TV. TV is the end of the
  143. world.

  155. Many people who love music aren't willing to find what they like best, but
  156. simply settle for what is set in front of them. It's sad that they won't go
  157. find something they can put energy into and find rewarding.  I know someone
  158. who has very specific tastes in music, and likes one part of this song and
  159. the second half of that song. He's extremely dissatisfied with most of what
  160. he listens to...but doesn't find what he likes. Why?
  161.     This is why I find what I like. It's worth the time to find. I
  162. didn't actually find Moby, tho. This guy Tom listened to him because this
  163. dude Christian that he looked up to introduced it to him. After a while Tom
  164. really got into it, and he was a control freak. He'd never let me choose
  165. what to play. He was ALWAYs listening to music, home or driving, awake or
  166. asleep. Lots of industrial, some techno. He had Rare and EIW Remix. Oh yeah,
  167. AR, too. Moby and Chembros I dug, but I the industrial wasn't for me.

  214. Well this is often a way for some people to adopt some of the music they
  215. listen to, and i guess too many people tend to use this method BUT you have to
  216. understand that to some people, the music they listen to isn't as important to
  217. them as maybe some others. They don't have real high standards for whatever
  218. they want to hear. And also..I was like that years back too because the type
  219. of music I listen to now doesn't exactly get a lot of exposure. If you want to
  220. be exposed to it, you gotta either hear a friend's CD or go to a show or be
  221. flippin through the radio on the right station at 4 in the morning. (not to
  222. get completely off topic I'll throw some MOBY in here). For example, I don't
  223. think I would have ever started listening to Moby if it wasn't for my brother,
  224. who had the EIW CD before, and I stole it and played it...and liked :). But a
  225. lot of people don't really get a chance to listen to any other type of music
  226. other than radio bullshit and MTV bullshit. It's all they have access to.

  314. it yet :) ) and Aphex Twin's "Come To Daddy"..But first I scan the used
  315. cd-bin(never know when you'll find a keeper for cheep)...My first finds?
  316. Bill Laswell's "Hear No Evil" and The Young Gods'  "Only Heaven"...Both for
  317. only $1.99(woo hoo!)..But then the emotions go straight down from
  318. there...I'm scanning the M's..when I find EIW, and the US version of both AR
  319. and EOE...Ouch...I can understand how someone would sell AR(We all know that
  320. there are Moby lovers out there who don't love this release)..BUT EOE and
  321. EIW?  Why?  Oh well..hopefully they're getting something w/ the $$$ they
  322. got..I keep going..find New Order's "Republic"...go around to the other
  323. side..and start going through all the comps and find "Only For The
  324. Headstrong Vol 1"..Been wanting this for quite a while(I have Vol 2.)..so I
  325. pick it up as well...Head to the electronic section to pick up CTD..when
  326. what is before my eyes..but the Mixmag Live! Vol 2 cd with Moby and
  327. Vath...Screw RDJ..I want this...Then I spy Underworld's "Dirty Epic/Cowgirl"
  328. single..I've been wanting this longer than ILTS..So I pick it up as well...I
  329. add up what I have..JUST under budget..Oh well..Daddy and Score will have to
  330. wait another day.  All in all..A great day for music buying :).

  408. Frankly, I think this mailing list is exceptional with staying on
  409. topic.  Lately, I have been trying to restrain myself about saying
  410. anything until I have logged several complaints from other list
  411. members.  I appreciate it when others mention something off-topic and
  412. ask for a personal response.  I view it as a great courtesy to others. 
  413. I also don't see it as a "problem" if the list slows periodically due to
  414. the lack of new information, insight, or opinion regarding Moby and his
  415. life.

  542.     So anyway, I just started to like the James Bond theme. I liked what
  543. Moby did with, but didn't really like the song itself. Last weekend I was
  544. playing the N64 Bond game, which has all sorts of variations on Bond music.
  545. My drunk friend Brian kept 'singing' the original over all the other songs,
  546. inadvertently making me think of mix possibilities....anyway, I did that
  547. track on ILTS now.

I think that CDeurope might have that for about 50$ or so, I just remember looking through their Moby selection a while ago and there were many different EIWs. one of them might be the one you're looking for. I am, however, personally against CDeurope because their page is SOOO slow and they take forever to deliver, but most importantly, there prices are at least double of what you can find anywhere else.

  594. how/where do you get such promos? I know they usually say _not for sale_ on them, but is there anyone or anyplace that sells them anyway? also, am I missing anything by not owning them, or do they only have exact copies of songs of the mass-produced albums?
