nothing but a strategically placed sock. Quite an odd picture, suffice to
say.

i'm sorry, but around here, bestbuy just increased their prices. they are
no longer a competitive store around here as far as i'm concerned. their
CDs are in the 14-15$ range now, and that's crap. there's no excuse for
that kind of price. there's a small chain of stores here called the
Exclusive Company - 6, maybe 7 stores. rarely do they charge more than
13$ for a new CD, most are 12$. the lowest price for a normal full-length
album is 9$. CD singles are between 5 and 6$ (domestic). for a while
there import singles went up to 10$ but i think they're back down to
9$. bestbuy is _not_ a great store... exclusive isn't exactly independent,
but it's not a huge chain, and it's one of the best stores i know. they
don't get everything, but they'll order it if it's still in print.

strangest thing... media play is another fairly large chain, but one
day i bought the brian eno instrumental boxed set and FAX - alien
community and the girl at the checkout was mad at me cos she was saving
up for the brian eno! she asked me what i thought of some of the other
FAX. _totally_cool_, and at a chain...
it's rare, but sometimes you _can_ find people with decent tastes in
music at a chain store. i wouldn't even put it past best buy. it all
depends on the people in your area. sadly, i doubt there are many
people in my area that listen to moby, ambient stuff, etc., but oh well.
sorry to all for the long rant...

Was there an interview with it?
For those of you who asked recently, I just read that Moby is
due to release a new album in september 1998 and there will be
no rock songs at all on it.

Hmm..sounds a lot like the RHCP album cover :).
Anyways..my post...I've decided to start poking around certain Usenet
groups..I did find alt.music.moby...Now I 'm wondering(I figure there's
gotta be a least one person on this list who's sub'ed to the group)..Is it
worth subbing to the group..Is there enough traffic that's different from
what's on the list? Also...I'd like to stay away from alt.music.techno..but
would like newsgroups in that area..any suggestions?

Some footages for the photo come to my mind..
"Moby's sock"
"I like to sock"
"Sock!"
I find the fact of the sock funny :) (I guess that Jim Carrey appeared once
on TV wearing only a sock).

I got a recording of Moby at the Electric Ballroom in london 9-96.. is
Wonderbread one of his old punk songs?
Also, I've got Trophy 1,3,5... what are the other ones? was "Bring Back
My Happiness" officially released? where can i get the second UK CD of
"That's When I Reach for My Revolver"?
Anyway, see you soon

Cardboard case, 7 track CD-I believe it's still available
There's a couple of singles for Revolver-if you're looking for the Orange
one (4-track with GMOTFOTW et all) it's still available. The
cardboard-cased 6 track remix disc was recently deleted though...(at least
in Canada)....

I noticed that Best Buy has raised their prices, too. A CD
that used to be 10 or 11 bucks their would now cost me 15 or 16 dollars.
When I bought AR there, it cost me something like 10 dollars. Now, it's
probably about 14 at least. The '...Revolver' single was $4.99 for me.'E
of E' was only $12 though. I almost always go to Circuit City first,
because they usually have the lowest prices. If I can't find something
there, then it's off to Best Buy. The last place I'll go is Musicland. An
average cd there is $17 at least. That's my 2 cents into the fountain!

the "rhcp cover" refers to the cover of an old Red Hot Chili Peppers album
(I forgot which one) where all the band members are standing up against a
sortof grayish background with socks over their..well you know...and no
other clothing at all. Kindof an odd connection....

Hey party people!
So I guess no one can confirm or deny that the intro to the original mix
of "Bring Back My Happiness" and the club mix of "Next Is The E" to be
the same?
As far as the connection between Moby and RHCP go, he thanks them in
Animal Rights. For what, I don't know for sure, but I would guess that
they had something to do with the album itself. Others that he thanked
in that album are: Scott Litt (REM producer), Billy Corgan, Perry
Farrell, and amazingly enough - scooter! And of course, Jesus Christ.
Lately, it seems like I'm seeing more of Moby. About a year ago, he
mentioned something about wanting to be a porn star. What do you all
think of this? He said that the porn world fascinates him and because
he's dated some call girls, which he says he didn't know at the time,
that they were.
I could just imagine it now. Like another Boogie Nights. Only it's
called, "I Like To Score!" Starring Moby, produced by Moby, directed by
Moby... And a Trophy release soundtrack which includes the hits; Come
On Baby, Everytime You Touch Me, and Ah Ah. ;-)
But this is not the only time Moby's gone nude. I have an article on
him from 95. There are four shots of him done artistically. Two were
of his upper body had a bunch of tree branches wraped around his head
with wire and he was wearing shorts that were down LOW! And the other
two, were shots of his lower body and NO sock even! Well, he had his
hands there...
Well, I hope this answers some of your guys' questions... and even raise
new ones! Late!

They were all done by Moby himself, apart from Feeling So Real (Westbam

Bring Back My Happiness (Josh Wink Mix).

Yes. Moby toured Europe with RHCP in late 1996, after the UK release
of Animal Rights. At a performance in Germany, he got naked onstage,
and some/all of RHCP followed suit.
BTW, glancing through a vocabulary builder book the other day, I read
that the suffix "-y" means "inclined to/tends to", and the prefix
"mob-" means "move". So Moby is inclined to move. :)
