stuff...
First of all, according to Rolling Stone mag, Moby is definitely NOT
producing the new Guns N Roses cd. A few producers are, but not him. I
remember Scott Litt and I think Don Was or somebody is producing trax,
but not Moby. Well, there's an article in the RS with that chick from
Titanic on the cover, go to yr local library n check it out...
For all u clubheads, info on BeatRadio....in about 10 cities in the
U.s. including New York, Detroit (home of techno), L.A., Chicago,
Mineapolis, Dallas, and a few more (like Boston or Phoenix or
something) BeatRaio is now on the A.M. dial. They play all club music.
Techno/house/trance 12 hours a day, 7 days a week!!! It starts 7 PM
here (I live in CT, I get the NY station) it starts 6 Pm central, 5pm
mountain, 4pm western. Next time I hear their phone #, I'll call them
and ask if they play Moby (i'm sure they do, why wouldn't they?) they
play a good mix of stuff...mostly new stuff, but an ocassional
mid-80's "roots of house" thingy. It's nice. Check it out.
This moby desert island thing that the nettwerk records guy (congrats
to sarah mclachlan for her grammys...and to the CHEMICAL BROTHERS!!!!
THEY WON BEST ROCK INSTRUMENTAL FOR BLOCK ROCKIN BEATS!!!! YAY!!!!!)
gave me an idea for my homepage...I'm putting up a desert island
recordings list...I'll list mine first, but I''m encouraging y'all to
put yours up...naturally I'm including Everything Is Wrong (if I don't
have that on a desert island, I'll just jump right in the water). I'm
also including stuff like the Chembros' 2 albums, Daft Punk, Beatles'
Greatest Hits, Queen's A Nite At The Opera, Led Zep 4, Nirvana's
Nevermind, stuff like that. E-mail me offlist for yr votes.
Last, I promise I won't plug my tape anymore (unless u want me to...)
my address is
Paul Simpson
12 Dadio Road
Hamden, CT 06517
send me a 60 m. blank tape and I'll send u a copy. It's called V1:The
Endless, Relentless Saga Begins and it's by DJ Shapeshifter. It's a
mix of techno/ambient/noise/sound collages/pop songs recorded with my
kid siblings with stupid words but aren't as near as stupid as Hanson.
It's kinda kool, I just listened to it. that's all. (IF you are
reading this outside the list on the archives page, you can still
order a copy!!! hee hee)

i thought we got rid of these annoying one line responses? it really gets
annoying after a while. l do recall this line from the e-mail from the
ShackofXaq: so respond PRIVATELY to this mail, i'll give you my address,
send your
tape, wait, get it back, and enjoy!
so, do it PRIVATELY, OK? it gets annoying when most of the messages are
one liners... kind of a waste.

well sorry for having contributed to this glut of wasted one-liners.
in my excitement i just hit reply to: and voila
a hundred fellow moby fans got my dumb message
silly me..........
actually i prefer the one line waste
over the 40 line waste as what we do here doesn't seem to require waxing
eloquently
or really at much length
it takes a a few seconds to read a message and blam
it's in the trash
or filed away neatly with all of man's other bits of garbage
i figure when i get tired of such nonsensical little bits of rave and
inquiry i'll just quit the group list >>>not a problem
most of us
it would seem
are not so serious about such matters
and rather enjoy knowing that there are others who dig the music
for whatever reason and on on whatever level.
so......
dig it......
cause as long as new people (like me)
join this list every day there are bound to be a few boneheads
who err in the name of well........
enthusiasm.
and you will never ever really fix that brother.

I must say Clay does make a pretty damn good point.
I understand there are rules here
but I think even Moby would think people are taking
things just a little too serious.
Everyone get over it.
Just be thankful we have Moby's music and
the opportunity to discuss it in this matter

i couldnt agree with you more. the beauty of eiw is the flow of the tracks,
the fact that 'let's go free' in all in grungy-glory is put right before
eytytm is obviously intentional. has anyone ever done an intro-scan of
'eiw' for people who have never heard of moby. i've done it and people
freak out.
and if i am not mistaken, 'let's go free' (live) was exclusive to that 'in
defense of animal rights vol. 2 (?)' cd?

So I get this email Wednesday..and listen to the .ra samples Andy put on his
site...After this I REALLY can't wait to get my cd..And sure enough..right
before I leave for work that afternoon..I check my mail..there it is...woo
hoo!!! :)
>i guess that is all i can think of now. if there is anything else you want to
>know, just ask.
Well..I was wondering...If and when I become a dj for the local college
station(already got a name...DjSix(six being a VERY important # in my
life)..Can I play this for the public w/o fearing any repercussions?
Anyways..about the comp...OOOOOOOH...Good stuff..all of you should stand up
and take a bow..You all did a very good job..A few things:
Andy: It's funny..I was listening to the cd w/o reading the back..EYTM
comes on..that VERY interesting beat starts..and I ask myself.."Where'd Andy
get that beat?" Then I read the back :). It's a great beat Andy..Aren't
accidents great? :)
Darryl: Where'd you get the Swaggart sample? It's not the first time I've
heard it(MBM used it in "It's The Music")..and I think it fits very
well...Any particular reason why you used it?
If there's ever another remix competition..I think you all have a legitimate
chance on winning...a BIG thanks to Andy(and everyone else) for putting this
together..You did a great job...I'm sure Moby loves it :).

Hello,
I have a question for all of the list members. As you know, if you hit
"reply" to an email that came from Mobility, it is automatically sent
back to the list address. This is a default that can be changed. Do
you guys prefer to have the "reply" reflect the senders email address
instead?
Please respond to my email address only. If there is a strong enough
response I'll look into changing the setup. Thank you.

AND EVERYBODY
regarding the setup
i think the set-up is kinda nice the way it is cause it
allows everybody to hear what's being discussed
it really is much like a bulletin board
if someone decides to respond to a private address
privately that's very cool too
there should be no RULES AGAINST that
of course but i feel we are a community of sorts and since that is the
understanding my vote is to let it be
and remain the way it is.
i kinda like the moby mail even if it is often a lot of chit chat
and trivia
it's
still moby stuff to me>>>>>>>>>>>>

Hi! My name is Alvin and I'm the latest to join. I'm 22 yo and live in
Southern California. My collection consists of only major CDs released.
I'm not a hardcore fan as I see most of you guys are. Jeez! So, this
is what I have:
Ambient
Animal Rights (Limited Edition 2CD)
Disk
Early Underground
Everything Is Wrong
Everything Is Wrong (Mixed and Remixed)
I Like To Score
Moby
Move
Rare: The Collected B-sides
I first heard Moby from "Cool World" in 1992. It was an amazing
soundtrack and I had to get it! That CD basically introduced me to the
techno world. As much as I like the other artists on the disc, none can
compare as to how much Moby affected me. The man is just brilliant!!!
The man, the music, the mind: I love everything about him! And the fact
that he's queer-friendly is like icing on the cake! Sure I like other
artists, but they come and go. MOBY IS FOREVER...

i'm not one to judge u about contributing.. i think i have too... and i
don't mean to start a fuss about it. i have a shitty computer that
sometimes doesn't like retrieving lots of messages.. so these one liners
can
get kinda annoying to me. they piss me off more when my computer decides
it doesn't like me. so, it's not ur fault but my computer's (and i know
i'm going to pay for saying that.. it knows what i type...). anyways,
sorry to start this... i don't like pissing ppl off.
also, there is a way to reply to messages personally. when u hit reply to
(or @ least i can.. i use microsoft internet mail), it pops up the whole
message, including a link to the person's e-mail address. that's what i
use. personally, i like the fact that we read what ppl post, so i don't
think we need to change this reply to. the point of this list is to post
things, so why change it? that's my opinion anyway...
so, i'll end this before i piss more ppl off. i guess i should think

You know with all of this talk of Everything is Wrong I would just like to
point out that the End of Everything has some really great tracks. I am
currently listening to Great Lake for about a half hour every day on my
commute to work and I use Patient Love just as a warm up to it. Although I
love this album, so much that I can barely listen to the whole things at once
since my batteries usually go out with Great Lake, I have to admit with DJ
Tripp that I would like to have some real Techno. I mean I am really being
deprived of it right now because there isn't a lot of good stuff out there for
it. It's all jungle or ambient. Even Prodigy got me angry with their turn
towards jungle and vocals and away from brilliant basic techno form as was
seen in Music of the Jillited Generation. Mack to Moby, I really like Move,
The End of Everything's B-sides, expecially Into the Blue's ones, and Next is
the E. However, I have been waiting for another really good Techno album from
him for quite a while and although this Voodoo Child track is giving me a good
time what I really need is the real thing. So if Moby really listening to us
out there, hey man, give use the real stuff! The James Bond remixes
expecially track #4 and #6 were incredible, can't we get a new album with that
kind of stuff on it?
