Moby Paraphernalia:
2 Moby shirts
1 Circular Moby sticker, affixed to the center of my favorite Woofer
1/6 of a shirt soaked with the sweat of Moby
1 Waterbottle touched by the lips of Moby.
I first heard of Moby when I was 12, A friend of mine in St. Louis lent me her copy of Everything is Wrong and I fell in love that night. Recently I have extended my collection of Moby as I gained access to the internet and was no longer limited to perusing such stores as Best Buy's small selection. I have also begun mixing his music on my computer using SoundEdit 16, a relatively obselete program. Most recently I have had the opportunity to attend one of his concerts. I was, of course, blown away and enve
loped by Moby's awesome live ambience. (I also broke my nose in the mosh pit)
Moby is by far the most enjoyable music to listen to, he is, simply put, the "best" musical artist. I don't consider myself "obsessed", I consider myself "appreciative".
How can I go about obtaining semi-rare/rare Moby CDs?
I am new to the list and thought I could appeal to all your munificent wisdom for assistence in my quest for ambience. I have read all those discographies, but they don't help me obtain such music. Where can I turn? Maybe Milwaukee isn't exactly the place to be for someone who loves Moby so much. I thought 20 Cds would be a dream, now I hear of some guys
"glancing over at my Moby c.d. collection that consists of 32 discs." RT (phathead@flash.net)
I have mixed feelings of envy and admiration (tinged with greed?).

Ryu, I agree with you...Though I just joined the list. You'd think a
mailing list for moby would discuss his philosophies. All I'm reading
is a bunch of boring crap about release dates and such.
Anywayz...I'd be happy to give you an orgasm by replying to you
Q...Yes, there is room for everyone to set their priorities; that is, if
they could do it and mind their own business at the same time. That's a
hard thing for most christians to do...I only know of a few cool
christians, Moby being one of them. As for Moby violating his beliefs
by singing only about relationships when he cares so much for the
environment...That's not violating his beliefs, i'm just guessing he
feels more musically inspired by love than political issues.
Well...I'm hoping people will follow your example, and bring up some
interesting topics...I'll see yall later.
Love,

Subject: (mobility) This is my Dream
Something about this is my dream doesn't get me. it's not very moving to me
only for two reasons;
#1; Moby saying "This Is My Dream"
#2; The Screaching Vocal that is so loud it hurts,
maybe with a less beautiful soundscape behind it i could look past those two
things, but for me i need the whole of it to be perfect...btw i need to also
find the german import of hymn, if anyone on the list finds an online store
that carries it, please let me know.

Well, I just got my "Thnaks" compilation CD today!
And I must say, Andrew, you have put together an AWESOME comp CD!!!
Not only are the remixes by mailing list members terrific, but the
production quality of the entire project is downright slick.
The facts that it's on a recordable CD and the liner notes are glued
together is pretty ghetto, but that seriously makes me like it even
more.
My favorite tracks are your mix of "Everytime You Touch Me" (f---ing
BRILLIANT, man!), the cover of "GMOTFOTW", and "Hymn not.quiet.version).
What a TERRIFIC CD!!!
Reading the messages you all wrote in the booklet was really neat,
too, because I feel like I know you all personally.
A great, GREAT CD, Gingerbread, here's hoping there's a Vol. 2!
Peace,
Dan

don't know what yr talking about-it's really...interesting and more and
more intriguing each time you hear it...sorry for the lack of moby
content...oh wait! i do have a question...i saw a few posts about a
rebroadcasting of a moby concert...is there anyway to find that in an
archive somewhere, cuz i can record stuff from the comp. to a tape and
it would be wonderful to have a moby concert... kc

K...Ryu loves a good challenge. I got a simple Q then, and your
response might lead to a good discussion. People such as Moby (and you)
seem to be so sure that your religious beliefs are correct. Tell me,
how is it you are so sure that there is a God, that Jesus was his son,
and that Jesus died for our "sins"? (That may have sounded a bit smart
assy, but I dont mean it that way.)
Just wondering,
