bonjour,
bran van comes from montreal (my hometown-check it out if you ever get the
chance-and re:moby in montreal, if i am not mistaken-if anyone can prove me
wrong-he has only played there once, in a disco/bar called metropolis; i
cannot confirm this, i was into pearl jam and nirvana making alternative
very marketable).
anyhow, bran van are a communal group-spanning 20 or so artists from around
the city and beyond. the cd was released last year to much praise, and yes
'beck' comes to mind, even though his apparent obnoxious attitude turned me
off for life. bran van can take a lot of keys from moby, and the
experimentation on that album could turn a lot of heads in the u.s.
remember bran van and as far as i know, the artwork will be different for
the american release. for the initial release in canada they took some
heavy-metal antics and blended them with cutesy cartoons, and the carry
case depicts a spiralling peice of sushi in the center. campy? yup.
do you guys think bands like this take themselves seriously? my only critic
of this band would be with such a diverse line up (such backgrounds as
soul, r&b, jazz, disco, punk rawk) should represent some multicultural
groups, however a song like 'drinking in l.a.' isn't representing anything
like that...don't get me wrong, playing devil's advocate (my favorite
pastime) i think the album is great ('cum on feel the noize', yeah!)
how about moby doing the theme to 'star wars' heck, if 'meco' could do it,
why not moby? sampling some of vader's breathing along with luke whining
could become yet another club staple (insert 'bizarre love triangle') or
how about moby doing yet another 'milking-a-dead-cow' remix of 'blue
monday'. sheesh the original rules. bar none.
been listening to move ep all night. yes. dig.
cheers,
danny

ok, i don't know if it is because i just woke up or what, but i think moby
doing the theme to "the nanny" would be both really weird and interesting.
i will see this later and probably shoot myself for it...

He already mixed a Prodigy song I believe. Fairground or Playground edit or
some name like that. It was a mix off of an Experience-era song....
I'd like to see him mix a slower Chemmies track, that'd be a good thing.....

Close but no cigar..Moby remixed Everybody In The Place(Dance Hall
Version)..There is a Fairground Mix of the same song..so I'll give you a
blue star for being so close :) For those collectors that don't have this
mix..it's on the Charly/Everybody In The Place single...I'm pretty sure it's
readily available as I've seen it around.
And now my choice of what Moby should remix..It's a pretty twisted
choice..but why not have Moby remix Smart E's "Sesame's Treet"?!?! ;> I
mean..Joey Beltram and Krome & Time remixed it..why shouldn't Moby?
BTW..don't ask me how I knew this ;>. OR..how about he remixes the Alpha
Team's "Go, Speed Go" ;> No..I'm not a masochist ;>.

I saw branvan on 12 angry viewers(note...don't on-list flame me but i
do like mtv)...turns out the cd glee is on Capital rec. now...woohoo.
I must own it...
Also, does anyone know anything about moby's
LFO remix? A few weeks ago, I saw the video for "We Are Back" on AMP
(MTV's techno show)...I thought the song was kinda kool, I like that
noizy abrasive techno, reminds me of a certain few AFX songs i
know...I heard he did a remix for them, but not that song...If anyone
knows anything about that remix or LFO, can u pleez tell me?
Also, does ne1 know anything about moby's brian eno remix? I know
that's pretty old too, but I like Eno and I wonder what a Moby remix
of him would b like...
The simpsons remix sounds awesome, considering my last name (and 1 of
my fave shows) is Simpsons. Maybe he should remix the South Park
theme. Soon, I heard, Sesame Street is gonna do something called
"Elmopalooza!"...with Shawn Colvin, Fugees, En Vogue...maybe Moby
could participate...
Probably the only bad thing about "AMP" is they never play Moby...they
do play some good old techno, and LOTS of Orbital and FSOL, and they
just recently started playing Kevin Saunderson...but they've never
played Moby, which sux...but both Moby vids I have seen were on MTV
(JB, Rev.)
Next is E...In liners to Rare, it makes you believe the title was
changed because of remixing...that's not true right? It was because
they thought it was about drugs right?
I agree DEath In Vegas is better than FBSlim, all of u who don't have
Dead Elvis, it's a phat cd, it's the best 1 I bought so far this year...
ok bye....

Ps i don't do drugs, so i wouldn't know...

they were great and never had one original sound.

Subject: (mobility) New Blur remix?
According to NME (http://www.nme.com/), Blur will soon be releasing a remix
album in the UK that had previously only been available in Japan, which
includes a remix of Beetlebum by Moby. Apparently, eight out of the nine
remixes will be exclusive to the album, with William Orbit's remix of Movin'
On being the only one to have been previously released. Now I'm sure that a
Moby remix of Beetlebum has already been released; does that mean that this
is a new one? Or have they got it wrong?
