Its funny how people think that Keith is just a new part of the Prodigy...he's
been part of the group since the beggining of it all. I don't like the new
prodigy stuff that much, but as a techno act goes..they have a great act
onstage. So until everyone here gets a good dance act together and stops
complaining about how dance acts hide behind keyboards, don't bag on the bands
that do have a good thing going for them.

daft punk is brilliant! ok, so about 50% is brilliant. like "pheonix"
(sp?), "rock n' roll" and "rollin' and scratchin'." the video for "around
the world" totally mesmerizes me every time. "da funk" is really really
bad, IMO, so don't base your opinion on one song.

keith has had stupid hair and acted like a moron for at least the past 7
years. don't blame prodigy for what the media has done. in fact, turn
off your radio and tv and go to a record shop. listen to what YOU like
and buy that. maybe that way you'll realize how much REAL shit there is in
the dance world and you'll appertiate (sp?) the talented artists more.
i guess i'm still a bit pissed. i did my radio show tonight and the guys
after me were macking out and were all attitude. I HATE ATTITUDE!!! i
also hate american techno. well, most of it. i've never concidered moby
american.
also, moby did a remix of "untill is sleeps" a while ago. i've only seen
it on the red 10" i have. he said he had it done, but metallica didn't
like it, so they changed all the drums and some other things. it's
basically not his remix anymore.
also also, has anyone heard if smashing pumpkins ever held up their end
of the deal and did a remix for moby?
also also also, someone mentioned a new 303 thing. did you mean the new
roland MC 303? the thing that's a 303, 808, and 909 all in one? i'd like
to play with it, but i think the whole X0X line is over rated, except the
kicks! nice!
ok, i think i've covered everything.
oh, i'll be the first to say, things are getting way off topic. (not that
it have stopped me i gress...) why can't it stop?

um...i hope you mean the "fat" album. prodigy have probably been THE MOST

absolute brilliance. his beats on "experiance" STILL amaze me. and "no

what happened to jazz?
also are you all basing your opinions on Prodigy on their latest fat of the
land CD? or on previous works....or even on their exploits into video
making? Personally i base my thoughts about artists on their works as a
whole,,, if it takes pop catchy song like firestarter to break an artist
then when they release their follow up maybe they will get back to genius

Actually, I think I got a bit out of line there. I meant to say
that, whoever the hell Liam Howlett is (the white guy, black guy, purple
guy, etc.) he is a really good musician, but I'd like to see EVERYBODY in
the band get exposure, not just the guy with the hair and the black guy
with the facepaint. A friend of mine has The Fat Of The Land, and I've
listened to a bit of it and it doesn't sound bad.
Question: Who are the members of Prodigy?(to clear everything up
and end it all! I agree that we are getting way off track.) There's the one
black guy with the facepaint, the other black guy, the white guy with the
cane, and the other white guy with the hair. All apologies about Prodigy;
if that's their style, fine and I understand. Yes, the media should stop
forming their own (insert word) about artists.
One problem is that no music store around me knows what they are
doing, so if I don't know about something, I either read it or guess.
I didn't realize people got heated up like this. The Prodigy
topic is over, hopefully!

Up until 'Walking Wounded', Everything But The Girl was a (unknown
exact genre) duo. After Todd Terry remixed "Missing", though, Ben got
heavily into Drum & Bass (even though Todd Terry isn't Drum n Bass).
'Walking Wounded' is, in my opinion, the best album they've ever done, with
'Baby, the Stars Shine Bright' being their second best album. Based on
'W.W.', E.B.T.G. is a Drum & Bass group. If they go back to their
"Accoustic" roots, then they won't be Drum & Bass anymore. As a matter of
fact, E.B.T.G. has/is releasing a new album, 'E.B.T.G. vs. Drum n Bass',
which has Spring Heel Jack, OMNI TRIO, and a whole heapin' load of other
bands of that genre on it.

Subject: (mobility) Instinct Dance CD...
I was in Colorado over the holidays, and picked up a cd that I had never
seen before, that I thought everyone here might find interesting. For
those who own/have seen the CD, forgive me... but it was news to me.
The cd is called "Instinct Dance: A Collection Of Dance Music From Instinct
Records"
Guess who's on it?
Barracuda:
1. Party Time
2. Drug Fits The Face
3. Besame
Moby:
4. Go
5. Mobility
Brainstorm:
6. Rock The House
7. Move The Colors
8. Drop A Beat
Voodoo Child:
9. Voodoo Child Remix
10. Have You Seen My Baby
11. Permanent Green
Does this CD sound familiar (Early Underground)??? Thought it was
interesting, and bought the damn thing anyway.
Actually, here are the notes from the sleeve:
"It's been less than two years since Instinct Records unleashed their
fierce brand of dance music on the world. The Instinct sound first took
root among the underground DJ's of New York and London who quickly realized
they were hearing something very new and exciting. Since then, Instinct
has built a loyal following of fans around the world.
The Instinct sound has fused the classic New York groove with the techno
sounds of Detroit and Manchester's ambient best, to create dance rythims
unlike any other. Working out of Intstinct's small Manhattan recording
studio, producer and musician extraordinaire Moby has supervised the birth
of these modern classics.
Barracuda's Italo-rave leads with the shimmering vocals and driving piano
of "Party Time", the even funkier "Drug Fits The Face" and the new
Barracuda single "Besame."
Moby's brooding UK smash hit "Go" is followed by the dark ambient pulse of
"Mobility."
Brainstorm kicks into high gear with the techno-anthems "Rock The House",
"Move The Colors", and the brand new "Drop A Beat."
Finally, Voodoo Child rips the lid off the party with "Voodoo Child
(Remix)" and the chilling techno groove of the brand new "Have You Seen My
Baby?"
Until now, most of these tracks have been available only as 12" singles in
limited quantities. Finally together on one compilation, this collection
of singles will take you on a journey throught the cutting edge of dance
music. Welcome to the uncompromising sounds of Instinct Records."
Jeez, no wonder Moby wanted to leave Instinct Records. If anyone else has
seen this before, let me know... I'm curious as to how mainstream it is for
the Moby junkies.

- - to the person who said something to the effect of turn off your TV, turn
off your radio and listen to the music YOU like - thats right on in my
opinion. There really is way too much crap out there - even as a personal
point of view, listening to comercial music sources is just damn
frustrating.
i don't know why, but everytime I hear Goldie's name mentioned, I sort of
cring. I saw him live last fall (opening for JA) and I was completely
dissapointed. Its probobly not even his fault - probobly the sound people
- - because all you could hear was noise and distortion. And it wasn't even
medlodic - just ear garbage. He seemed pretty pissed, but thats because
the crowd was in pain... probobly part of the source of my cringing.
the only drum-n-bass stuff I personally own and know I like is Scanner vs.
Signs Ov Chaos - which is Robin R. (scanner) and Micheal Wells (soc)
playing together on an EP - I don't know if they play their own tracks, or
if they do play together on each track (maybe i should find out) but its a
good CD - however, Sony Music took it out of print because they decided
they didn't like the songs entitled Micheal Jackson (which, if you didn't
know, is a fairly common name in the uk) and has nothing to do with that
embarassment we commonly think of.
I am definetely a follower of Micheal Wells and his late partner Lee
Newman (Greater Than One, GTO, Tricky Disco, Signs Ov Chaos, Church of
Extacy, Technohead, TD5, John + Julie, The Man & The Salami Brothers)
Each being a swift stylistic change - but until more recently, in
discovering Moby and a handful of other artists, was the only
"techno-like" music I could stomach a lot of
anyway - I have only come to like Moby more recently (i shamefully admit I
once owned MOVE and didn't like it - now I could kick myself for not
having that tape... its on my moby shopping list) but he has definetely
emerged as one of my more favorite artists. Its something about his music
- - generally it makes me feel REALLY good. Its been so amazing to listen
to that my CD collection is swelling by the week...
anyways, I am rambling

Hey!
An explanation on this remark please....
because I might be the only memeber of this list who can make cheese of this
sentence!
From Ramulac???
Daft Punk is ALL over Europe and it's about it.... they are about to leave
right now,
it was a 1 round tour.... around the world....
it sure is no punk... not even daft...
so...
