  143. I just read a review of the latest Squarepusher CD in Alternative Press,
  144. and they said that it was super, great, and other superlatives I'm too
  145. tired to remember right now. I found it in my local store, but since it's
  146. an import, it costs something like $20.99.

  148. So I was wondering, have any of you heard this CD? How is it? Is it worth

  178. college radio station during a late night techno show and i liked what i

  190. i've been here almost since the very begining of the list, but every once 
  191. in a while i like to remind everyone who i am. so here goes:

  193. my name is xaq. (that's "zac") i'll be 21 in september. however, i don't 
  194. drink, smoke or do drugs of any kind, unless you count coffiee, in which 
  195. case i'm a junkie. i do eat meat, but i try to find other things to eat 
  196. whenever possible.
  197. i live in proctor, minnesota. proctor is about 10 minutes from duluth, 
  198. which is about 140 miles from minneapolis/st. paul, home of prince! 
  199. i'm a dj at the on campus raido station here at UMD. KUMD 103.3fm. i have 
  200. a show every tuesday night from 10pm to 12:30am. i spin everything from 
  201. big beat chemical brothers to evil dj tron type gabber. my genre of 
  202. choice is happy hardcore. i play moby fairly often.
  203. i am also the coordinator of "progress," a monthly rave/dance/party thing.
  204. the next one is this sunday!! i can't wait!
  205. i've been into moby since around '94. i saw him at first ave. on june 
  206. 5th, '95. it was the show that was bootlegged. i used to have a copy, but 
  207. i thought that the sound was really bad, so i taped over it. before the 
  208. show, he made an apperance at a local record shop and signed three of my 
  209. cd's and my extra comp to the show.
  210. i now have about 20 cd's of his and five records. i'm planning on getting 
  211. his voodoo child album next.
  212. i'm the person who took on the silly task of making the moby 'zine. 
  213. needless to say, it failed, but i did get a mostly final copy off to ryu, 
  214. who said it was good.
  215. i also write my own techno based music.
  216. if there are any of you who are dj's or also write your own stuff, maybe 
  217. we could swap tapes! or, if you're into happy hardcore, i have about 6 
  218. mixes of other dj's that i could trade. write back privatly if you want 
  219. to work something out.
  220. my favorite "band" of all time is marilyn manson. yes, i like both moby 
  221. and manson! that describes my personality pretty weel too. i've seen 
  222. manson three times.
  223. well, i think that's all i can say without getting way off topic, so i 
  224. guess i'm done.

  434. everytime i mention marilyn manson ANYWHERE, someone has to tell me to 
  435. shut up or go to hell or whatever. so i don't mind it anymore. i 
  436. understand that there are people out there who only look and things like 
  437. skin color and hair styles and make thier judgement. fine. human nature i 
  438. guess. but i think people like moby would find these bigots and fashion 
  439. suckers to be less then human. i greatly respect moby and his beliefs. 
  440. i also greatly respect marilyn manson and HIS beliefs. both moby and
  441. manson have been looked down upon for saying and standing up for what they 
  442. love and trust. they are both very honest people. americans don't like 
  443. honesty. they want to see a bright neon label on everything that tells 
  444. them what's inside so they know whether or not to buy it.
  445. as for music genres, i love music. granted, some of it i don't 
  446. understand, but i love the act of making music. it;s the people who don't

  966. art of noise but i don't recall the name of the song... the cd's in my car
  967. at the moment... the song is REALLY good... sounds like it was done in
  968. their "experience" days...
