Subject: Re: (mobility) Mobility is 1 year old!
Wahoo... good job Daniel! Thanks for remembering, I'm just surprised
you beat me to the announcement (hehe).
Anyway, it is true. The Mobility mailing list has now been operational
for exactly one year. There have been some definite problems but things
seem to get smoother and smoother as time goes by. Maybe some of you
remember the problems with the older server Mobility use to run on.
There was no digest offered and the entire list of subscribers would get
unsubscribed periodically without anyone knowing... including myself!
Thank goodness those days are over. I'm hope to have the digests coming
out more frequently by the end of the year. Currently they are sent
when approximately 40k of emails have gathered. I want to cut that in
half so our digest members can keep better in touch.
As most everyone knows, the mailing list also offers a "profile" page.
It's quite basic but I have found it to be both helpful and
interesting. I have introduced a submission form for adding a profile
or changing one to provide more convenience and visibility. I've also
changed one category slightly... "Favorite Moby single" has now been
changed to "Favorite Moby song". If you have any changes, please fill
out the submission form and I will take care of it.
Last of all, I wanted to let everyone know that I am proud of this
mailing list. I think we have all done a great job in keeping the
subject focused without making things sterile. We have also done a
wonderful job in showing each other respect. Something violated all too
often on other mailing lists. Our numbers are growing slowly but
steadily (almost 200 members) and I am looking forward to the next year.
Maybe Moby will drop by some time. Now that would be cool!

Subject: RE: (mobility) MOBY & HACKERS
Hi
I just thought i'd share an experience I had this weekend.
I was browsing through a bunch of more or less lame compilation
CD's in a used CD-store. Then, all of a sudden, my sub-concious
mind makes me wake up... I saw, with small red printings on a psycho
blue cover : "featuring ..., MOBY, ...
When I read the index on the back I was thrilled :
#5 - MOBY : GO [Deep House Extended Mix]
#12 - MOBY : HYMN [This Is My Dream]
Now I have a question : What is the "Deep House Extended Mix"
of GO?? I have not seen this edit before. It is 7:46 min and has an
extended synt section at first, a longer piano section and some
synth-drum-loops in the middle. "Go" is repeated a lot of times
during the middle. Is this an Illegal/Bootlegged/non-licenced
version, or is it a known song??
The compilation CD does not have any numbers, but I believe
it's called "All In All" or "All | All". Has an intense blue colored
cover with all texts in bold red. The title All ??? All is blended into
the cover-image, which is somewhat water-like.
Can anybody help me out here?
T.

i'm listening to 'i like to score' as i type and i was wondering if anyone
has seen, heard, or heard of any other official versions of 'first cool
hive.' this has been a extreme favorite of mine since the minute i first
heard it on everything is wrong. if there aren't any official ones, has
anyone on the list made a remix? i'd love to hear it.
also, i recently made a remix of sorts of moby's 'move.' it's a primarily
jungle mix called 'move (drums on the move mix).' if anyone is interested in
hearing it i could sent it to them in mp3 format via e-mail, irc dcc, or icq
(# 2654440).
the end of everything kicks some phat pure techno ass.
i'm outs,
ethan

the www.efnet.org web page. IRC is the oldest, most reliable, and most
powerful chat facility available to internet users. If you are having
any problems getting connected or how to get into the chat room, give =
me
a ring. As with all new IRC channels, we will have a few problems at
first, and a small userbase. Hopefully we will attain a large =
following
and have people in there 24 hours a day! If you are already familiar
with IRC, please send me a e-mail, or talk to me on IRC my nick name is
"phunistle", i'll be sitting in #moby. So come by and check out the
channel! =20
