Good Man Black Knife,
That's one, anyone else, this gentleman putting up his money, how about you ?
Apparently with a name like "Black Knife" you have one of the blacksmiths items. <GGG>
By the way I'm Pennsylvania Dutch - Boone's home, not a Texas boy, that's Pablo - born and breed in that State or is it still a Republic ? Remember that's the place that Crockett went to, for warmer weather.
Where are those Missouri, Kansas, Texas, New Mexico, Utah and Colorado Boys at, this hunt is close for you guys, hell me and Mr. Miles have to drive half way across this country.
Hey Pablo you still awake, I know Larry will answer me.

Dale Morgan, in The West of William H. Ashley, identified the Tewinty,
where it confluenced with the Green (Seeds-ke-dee), as what known today as
the Duchesne River. This can be verified by tracing Ashley's mileages down
the river - his description of the river trip is remarkably accurate. The
Strawberry flows into the Duchesne twenty or thirty miles upstream. The
San Raphael is way to the south - Ashley didn't go near that far.

Hey Dennis, Larry & Pablo,
How long has the list of "AMM Brother's Gone Under" been on the AMM Raffle site ? This is the first that I really payed attention, that's pretty neat to honor those that go before us. Man the pictures of you guys shooting buffalo are really something, what an exciting time that will be when I win this event. <GGG>.
Well I got to get back to work on my research project on "stone bridges" here in PA, their age and who funded and built them for the project manager report.
Later.

Hello Brothers,
Paul Jones graciously took the initiative to advertise this raffle in several National Magazines. Hopefully this will generate some sales.
Buck Connor created a web site to advertise the Great Buffalo Raffle, and several members have created links to it on their websites, way to go guys ! ! !
What we need to do is to get the WORD OUT now. Lets make this effort pay off for the land.
As to you individuals... This Hunt is an excellent opportunity. Think of all of that meat in the freezer, think of curling up on a cold night in your buffalo robe, which you hunted.....
The skull alone is worth several hundred dollars. Ok, Ok...you say you couldn't possibly do this hunt due to logistics.... Well.... you winning ticket would be very sellable. Your slight investment in the ticket, and Our Land, could net you a tidy profit on an auction, etc.... Think of that angle.
There are many on this list who would be willing, and able, to pay a discounted price for this Hunt (say $1,000?) ...... Your investment in tickets could pay off handsomely by selling the ticket.
Your odds are a heck of a lot better than playing the Lottery. right now the odds are 1:89, this sure beats 1:1,000,000,000......
Please brothers, contribute what you can, sell some tickets to friends, shooting club members, folks at local rendezvous, etc.... The drawing will be in the first few days of December. I've talked to my banker. He will do the drawing, and notorize the result. This will be a completely fair drawing.
The winner will be notified as soon as possible. Let people know this.
A disinterested party will be doing the drawing. He will inspect the drawing box, etc.... I will have a statement drawn up , which he will notorize. I will not be buying tickets, to avoid a conflict of interest. Any one who knows me, knows that I have been a good contributor to our cause. Do me a BIG favor? print this out and distribute it to your fellow party memebers? Help us get the word out, help us sell tickets, help us achieve OUR goal. Ok..ok.... I'll let go of your ear, for now.... Thanks for your attention. I am, Your Friend and Brother,
Randy 'Hardtack' Bublitz

Subject: MtMan-List: The Great Buffalo Hunt Raffle
<DIV>Hello to all, and Happy Fathers Day to you Dads out there,</DIV>
<DIV> This is just a reminder that The American Mountain Men are still selling tickets to the Buffal Hunt Raffle. You can find out all about the Hunt and Raffle at Buck's great website:</DIV>
<DIV> Sales have been rather slow. This translates to not many tickets in the drawing box; ie- great odds of winning ! ! ! The winner will get to hunt a large bull buffalo, black powder only, on a private ranch in Kansas. The Buffalo will be skinned and butchered for you. The winner gets it all; hide, skull, meat, everything except the gut pile (unless you want that too). </DIV>
<DIV> The drawing will be the first week of Dec., 2002. The hunt is set up for Feb., but the owner of the ranch will work with your schedule. You do want to hunt in winter, while the hide is prime. </DIV>
<DIV> Check out the website. Good luck to you. YFAB, Randy</DIV>
