After Kreutz'a bbq you son should explore the rest of the great bbq places
in the area as well as the Tex-Mex food. Not really Mexican......people
from Santa Fe also turn up their noses...but at good places Tex-Mex is
excellent. He should know that Cabrito is not just roast goat, it is roast
BABY goat....the whole critter, about the size of a big rabbit. PETA folks
almost never eat a places that sell Cabrito
>>Lanney Roux left off the best place to get Cabrito. Go to a place just
off
the Mexican Market in San Antonio named Mi Tierra's. Not sure of the
spellin, but that's close. The place has been there for generations. I
think it goes back to the Pancho Villa days.
Enjoy it !

Jim,
My understanding is that the 4 points arent as old as the fur trade =
prime. Also I believe solid color more typical. Lists of trade goods =
in our timeframe typically show 3pts and some 3 1/2 pts. Lot's of good =
knowledge on these is available at the Museum of the Fur Trade in =
Chadron. I've attached their email address as well as a link to the =
index of their quarterly journal, which I highly recommend. You might =
wish to become a subscriber as their information is well researched. =
They have what may be the best collection of point blankets around, =
including what is believed to be one of the oldest documented point =
blankets, dated to the Rev war. Their collection of fur trade artifacts =
and trade guns is well worth the drive from anywhere in the country. =20
