Last year, when Carl was able to make the Collection available in the
US (but unfortunately not abroad), I was glad to help get the CDs to
our overseas list friends, and had this wonderful music going to 5
continents! Now maybe someone would like to adopt a few Americans
and Canadians?
Hatlessly, even tho' it's *darn* cold here!!

Probably. We have a specific track list in mind and I expect that the others
will follow our lead.

I can not organize anything directly but if you guys can find an online mail
order service located outside North America I'll try to set them up as a

Well, 'ere in the old UK we are charged anywhere between 10 and 16
UKSterling for a disk, so that equates to 15 to 24 USDollars (approx) plus
postage. I suppose I could 'buy bulk' through a friends dad's record shop
and hopefully get a reduced price though I'm not sure if the 2 for 1 will
be classed as an import or not... The problem is that my company (Global
Dynamik - Wang VS software) doesn't have a visa debit account, so maybe
someone else who has can help out!

I know that this is a little off the MWH topic, but a few months ago we
discussed the similarities etc. of MWH and another Montreal synth band
Rational Youth.
I came across this posting from Tracy Howe of Rational Youth in
alt.music.canada and thought that I would repost it in the event some RY
fans continue to lurk here.
As an aside, it is great to see a band member working at getting his
work re-released! Good luck Tracy!

We are engaged in a campaign to get EMI Canada to re-issue our album
"Cold War Night Life" on CD. They have said that if they get enough
requests they will put it out.
We are asking synthpop fans to go to our homepage, which is located at
http://www.lglobal.com/~fitzhowe/ry and follow the email link to EMI
which is right on the first page of our site. Then, all we are asking
that people do is write "Attention Warren Stewart: Please re-issue Cold
War Night Life by Rational Youth" then put your name and the city and
country you are writing from.
We will thank individually by name every person who informs us that they
have done this by listing their name in the booklet of the CD when it is
released and on our homepage where we have an honour roll of synthpop
heroes who have helped us with this campaign.
If you are a fan of Rational Youth, or if you would just like to support
a synthpop effort anyway, please take a minute to go to our site and
help us with this campaign.
Thanks everybody!

I, too, missed the videos AND the CD's, but since I have a new wicked fast
computer with CD-R drive I am willing to make a batch of copies once I get
my own set. I can't say I can produce the same quality product (I make
paper labels and stick them to discs for myself), but they will sound the
same.
Anyone willing to sell their copy or lend it for a week or so? Please
e-mail as I'm on the tri-weekly digest.

And as for Lars question about Ivan's new recording - did I miss a few

So far three people have asked me for copies once I get my copy, but no
one has offered to lend or sell me their set. One kind sould has offered
to make copies of his set, but he cannot make the same labels as on the
original.
I'd really like to borrow a set so that I can make paper labels that
approximate the cool labels on the original batch. If I'm confused and the
labels really aren't all that cool, photocopies of the disc labels will
suffice.
Is anyone in the US (preferably the midwest) willing to lend me the
trilogy package?

Everyone's been watching the video...no time to read email. Anyway it's
great to see and hear some different MWH stuff, there still isn't enough
stuff out there though. MWH sound great with guitars in there beside the
synths.
My personal three of the best are Heaven from the video/ROY CD and
WDTBG/Things in my life both also from the ROY CD.
Anyone else got any favourites?

I don't know, if this has been organized by now. If not, I'd be willing to
get the discs for people in the USA and Kanada.
There are three possibilities for me to get the discs:
1. Carl sells me a bunch of discs, like he sold special 'Fan-Copies' of
'Collection'. Carl, please contact me, if this is possible (I am in
Germany and I am a private person, no company).
2. Get them from an ordinary shop. New CDs are about $16 to $20 US here.
If there's a large request, maybe they will grant me some discount. I've
never tried that before, so I don't know.
3. There are always people at record faires selling new discs at low prices.
Maybe I can get into business with one of them (Never tried before, too).
I doubt that the price would be less than $12 US.
In any way, shipping from Germany is quite expensive, so my suggestion would
be that I'd send a package with multiple CDs to a person in the USA (e.g.
Laura :), who will then send them to their individual recipients. Before we
will do this, we will check which is the cheapest way. Btw, this might be a
reasonable solution from all overseas locations, not only Germany.
So folks, please let me know what you think about all this.
Greetings, Thomas

[forward of response to Thomas...]
Hi!
I'm interested in getting a copy of the new 2for1 CD, and will pay whatever
necessary (within reason :) to get it.
I could volunteer to be the "transshipment" point in the US if you want. This
way you could send me one package with all the CD's and I could forward them.
Two potential problems with this idea, though:
- - I'd rather not pay for all the CD's and then collect the money myself, as I
am pretty broke right now and couldn't afford to shell out for n copies. But,
if people pay you for the CD and me for shipping they'd have to send two
cheques.
- - US Customs may get upset about one person receiving so many copies of a
single CD. They may consider it "importing" rather than a gift or whatever,
and may slap an additional duty on it, or get their feathers ruffled. Anyone
know the legal implications of doing this? As a foreigner here, I wouldn't
want to get deported for customs violations :)

It was for a very good source of me in Musique plus (much music in Montreal).

It seems that Ivan's "new sound" is back with technology (unlike the sideways

I just mailed all the pictures of MWH during 1983 to 1988. So if you are
waiting for them, you should receive them this week.
OK due to all the request I had, I will probably go and reproduce another
10 or 15 copies.
If anyone wants MWH pictures from 1983 to 1988, leave me a message, I will
send you samples so you can judge by yourself if you want it. There is to
package. 4 pictures in 4X6 format everything included for 9$ and the big
package, 2 4X6 and
2 8X10 format for 25$.
So if you are interested, leave me a message this week.
