Well, it's the October 1, and I told you all that it was the deadline to
volunteer for the cover CD project.  Well, I said 10 would be my lowest
limit...I recieved 5 musical volunteers.  HOWEVER, I still plan on doing
this project.  I'll be contacting those six in a day or two and checking to
be sure if they are still interested, and then we'll start organizing
ourselves and eventually make some music.  Thank you all for the support,

Honestly, I would do the exact opposite.  Yes, he was quite rude, but he can
go to h***.  Music was created to be shared, and we should do so...think of
it as spitting back in his face, I mean, come on, he did produce that
CD...and if you did a better production job, then it obviously proves his
ego is bigger than his talent.  Please, share the song with us - even if it
doesn't go no the compilation, at least we'll ge tto hear it.

I have no intention of judging any one person for any one thing, but
I really believe that Stephan was only doing what he thought was the right
thing to do. I know that by saying that I am going to be on a "list " of my
own. I don't understand why every one is still picking on Stephan. Is he not
just as entitled to his opinion as the people on the list? This is HIS
property we are talking about. And if anyone has a right to say any thing it
should be Stephan and Ivan. Has anyone ask Ivan how HE feels? I believe, And
again this is just my opinion......That just because we are these big Men
without hats fans, That does not give us "carte blanche", To take and or
reproduce any material that has not been given to us by the artists
themselves!
There it is!  Not a popular opinion, I know.
When I first discovered the list. I was in heaven! I have been a fan
forever, and yet I never heard anything from "Freeways"! I was so happy to
find this site because I am still a Men without hats fan!
So trust me , You are doing so much good, But please lets stop picking on
Stephan! Maybe he was a little strong, but "a rude bastard" ?????????? Come
on people.....We don't know what he or Ivan has been through. For all we
know his feelings were justified, In any case his feelings were honest, And
he did what he thought he had to do. Have you all forgotten that Stephan is

Actually we did :)  The chat with Ivan we had a while ago, he was asked
what he thought about bootlegging.  He gave us a vague reply
actually.....hm.  He was personally shown some bootlegs the list produced
and he was proud of them.  Bruce Murphy seemed ok with it.

But I do agree that we should stop picking on Stephan.  Not every single
member has to be approving of our ideals.  Stephan said some terrible
things and attacked some members directly but he was only protecting his
and his brothers' artwork.  Remember, we learned that Marc Durand stole
their recordings (as far as we really know that is.  We never heard his
side) so I think maybe we should keep that in mind about his eruptions.  He
made an ugly mark on this list and well, that's as far as we should keep
it.  So many groups have members who stink and have rather unpleseant
behaviour.  Stephan doesn't like SELLING bootlegs so be it.  It isn't
murder, drugs, sleeping with a prostitute, or joining a racist group.

I think it's time somebody makes a nice men without hats shirt.....nothing too fancy....just a small logo (not centered like the e-mail ones....those just look to cyber-ee....can't somebody just make a shirt where on the front it says men without hats by the pocket and on the back maybe there's the freeways lines (like what is pictured in the Live Concert in Montreal)

What do you think???

Sure, we can even buy those iron-on transparencies which can go into any
printer. Maybe a few can design the artwork which go on the shirt and
everyone can download them :)  I wouldn't mind making a few designs.  Hey,
we can mix and match!  A few design the front a few design the back.  We
can even have it "released" at the same time as the cover CD! :)  I'd love
to design some.

Hi!

I think when a band become very popular, It's normal that people are trying
to get show version of their songs.

 Like some people here wrote before,  There is many douzens of bootlegs on
the rolling stones, led zepellin, etc.

Stephan has the right to be against the bootlegs, but it's something the real
fans are dying for.  I know, I am one of them and I have all the bootlegs.
Those bootlegs and those demos gave me a new start for Men without hats.  May
be Stephan can published himself the bootlegs.  I don't mind paying him 15$
for each new bootlegs he could burn for us.

have any more info on this? I'm DESPERATE!!! I'm also looking for the MWOH
apperance on Top of the Pops doing "Pop Goes the World".  I have a large
collection of New Wave bands from the 80's for trade including OMD, Devo,
Kraftwerk, The Rockets, Wall of Voodoo, etc. I can trade in NTSC, PAL and
SECAM.

I am new to the list, and I would like to give a long introduction, but I
wont.  I live in Southern California and love music  from the 80's, which I
feel is the best decade for music!  I have been a fan for over 15 years and
have every album but Men & Woman...  I have the first album, folk of the
80's. that I am willing to trade with anyone.  All I want is music.  I am
not a big collector when it comes to music.  I mean, I have an extensive
library of music (10,000 + albums) but music means more to me then rarities.

What I am looking for is just all the tracks on CD from the first 2 albums,
and the album Men and woman in the 21st century.  I have seen the double CD
of Rhythm/Folk, but I don't have the $70 to blow on every album I want.
What I can offer is my studio time.  I own a Mastering Studio.  If you can
supply me with all the tracks on CD (from CD, not dubbed from tape to CDR).
I don't care if its a CDR of the 2 album combo, I just want the music.  A
scan of the cover would also be nice!

What I can offer is a completely re-mastered album of any of your favorite
music.  Including Men Without Hats.  If the group you want re-mastered is
one of my favorite groups as well, I will even master all their albums and
send you as many as 10 CDR's, just for giving me a copy of the Rhythm/Folk
CD!  You will also get the Folk of the 80's Part 1 12" just for helping me
get the music!  I collect the music for my own purposes and not for
reselling.  I compile all my favorite albums (when I am not mastering a
project from some up-and-coming artist!) and I burn them on CD for back up.
Keep in mind, this is professional mastering.  I don't just burn a CD.  I
will make the music sound at least 100% better, louder and cleaner.  I can
make the music sound like it was recorded yesterday in the best studios.  If
you live in the Southern California area, I will drive over if need be.  I
just want the music

Anyway, that's what I can remember.  I'll be sure to let you know if there's
anything I left out.  I don't really want to get rid of these, because they
have sentimental value, and just looking at them reminds me of the
excitement I got when I first got them, but I do need to pay off my debts.
If you're interested in anything, give a price you'd pay.  This is an
auction, so I can't guarentee you'll get it.  I'll go for the highest price.
  I need as much money as I can get right now.
