  25. That name is not from any of the Black Company novels, but Glen Cook has a 
  26. whole host of other novels/series that are no longer in print....maybe one of 
  27. them holds the roots to the name?

  100.   Amiranda Crest is, if I remember correctly, from one of the early 
  101. Garrett books.  I don't have them at hand right now but I'm sure 
  102. someone will give the exact details soon.  It's a pretty name, 
  103. anyway.  At least he didn't push for Toadkiller Dog. (heh)

  129. I am new to the list. I have to admit a certain ignorance of Glenn Cook 
  130. books. The father of my daughter, however, is a fan of them. So much so
  131. that 
  132. our daughter is named after one of his characters. That is why I am
  133. posting 
  134. to the board. I am currently trying to find out where the name Amiranda 
  135. Starr originated from. Whether he made it up, or took it from some point
  136. in 
  137. history. Whatever it may be. I have attempted to do numerous online
  138. searches 
  139. on this. I have come up with the pages I have devoted to my daughter,
  140. and 
  141. quite a number of pages for people named A. Miranda. I would greatly 
  142. appriciate it if anyone could help me shed some light on this.
