Tim,
I don't run Windows 95, but I suggest that you add something regarding Windows
NT 4.0 to the docs because, of course, the way NT handles DOS programs is quite
different from 95. You could say something like the following:
Windows NT does not support fractint nor any other DOS program in SVGA modes
(640x480x256 or better). This is documented in Microsoft's Knowledge Base. Some
users have reported getting one or another SVGA mode to work with fractint, but
on most NT systems the best that can be done is to try the IBM VGA non-standard
modes. IBM VGA (non-std) 360x480x256 is probably the best choice.
I have tried fractint on 2 NT systems, one using a Matrox Millenium, and the
other using an ATI Mach64 card, and 360x480x256 is the best that either of them
will do. For the other DOS settings, the defaults seem to work fine.

You just did it again :)
In your mail reader, change the encoding from MIME to UUENCODE. This will
prevent that the message will be sent in two formats.

If you have Outlook Express:
0. select Compose New Message;
1. select Format tab;
2. select Rich Text (HTML), if it's not already selected (you'll see a check
mark if it is);
3. again, select Format tab and choose menu item "Background;"
4. choose Picture; browse for the picture you want (BMP, GIF, or JPG);
5. hit Enter, and you're set.
6. Now you can just type OVER the picture (you can control front color,
too!).
If you do NOT have Microsoft Outlook Express, try duplicating the above
steps using analogous options (which I'm sure exist in almost all e-mail
software).
Hope this helps.
Leon

Ok as far as i know you can open up the JPG and GIF files in you web browser
with out being on the web. once that is done, right click the mouse and save
as a .BMP
from there you can open it as a bmp and edit it/write on the image itself.
then all you need to do now is have adobe photo shop or and HTML editor. from
the Editor open up a new document, and insert the image tag into it (dont
actually write it in it must be drag&drop kind of placement) it will then ask
you for a conversion method. i always chose JPG. this has worked for m,e
countless times.
to get an HTML editor for free. log on to the web at www.coffeecup.com

If you have Corel Draw you should be able to create a watermark
by merging highlighted/shadowed text on a medium grey
background with your image using an add or multiply function.
You will have to adjust brightness and contrast after the merge
for a satisfactory result..

Ok. I assume by embedding comments in an image, e.g. .gif or .jpg, you mean
to place a copyright notice and/or signature and/or otherwise such as
poetry similar to what Terry Wright is doing with some of his images which
he posts to apbf. The process in both LViewPro and PSP is very similar (the
caveat is that I am using LViewPro "1.0" or at least an early version, and
for touch ups PSP 4.0. I have LViewPro 2.0 or whatever and PSP 5.0, and a
Corel Draw package, and ... but just finding time to install let alone use
is something else entirely!). Anyways...
Open an image in LView. There should be a tool bar on the side - or top, or
wherever it may be. If not, and assuming you are using Win95, click on
"File" at top. On the drop down menu click on properties. Then click on the
"Interface" tab. Check the "Show toolbar" box. Close image and reopen - yo
now have a tool bar. (Actually, you do not have to do this, you can instead
simply click on "Edit" at the top, then click on "Add text". I am more used
to having the tool bar...
With the toolbar, click on the "T". If you have gone through "Edit"
instead, we are now at the same place. A new window has opened over your
image titled "Add text". You can type in your text in the appropriate box.
There is a box to define the foreground color (color of your text) and
another for font characteristics where you can choose the font style and
size you wish to use.
After typing the text, you can now use the sliders to position the text
whereever you want it on the image. After completing, you can now close the
image and by clicking yes the image will retain the change.
You can, and probably should, first take an image, open, and under file,
"Save As" 'whatever' in order to duplicate the image and have something to
practice with until you become comfortable with the process - one or two
additions and you will have it down pat. PSP is very similar. Both
programs, and Corel, have pretty good "help" files in the event I have left
something out...
BTW, if you want to get "creative" you can embed another image into the
first image by copying and pasting. It is not the same as layering, but ...

How do I put it in reverse?

I already know how to add text to the graphic image, shadowed, etc.. I was
thinking more along the lines of embedding text within the digital
information- such as a message header, somewhere within the file information.
In other words, a file comments section, something that would stay with the
image if someone were to right click the image and save it to their drive.
Thanks

This was a big topic sometime in the past. I searched download.com for
watermark and got a couple of hits that will work for you I think.
Here is the completed search address:

Hope it works

In every boomerang there is a perfect throw.
Your life, Grasshopper, is to practice till you find that throw
and become one with that boomerang!
