  690. secret lab. Imagine three random points on the complex plane. Each point
  691. is the source of a force field, just like an electron. But it's not an
  692. electric or gravitational field, it's a function field. At each point is
  693. sitting a function sending out its force onto the complex plane according
  694. to the inverse square law. Now every single point on the plane "feels" a
  695. superposition of these three forces. You may have a sine pulling with
  696. strength 0.7, a square with 1.2 and a flip with 2.5. When we add this
  697. FunctionForceFieldFrenzy to every pixel of a standard mandel computation,
  698. we can have interesting results.

  829. usually happens when I'm using Fractint to edit colors in images
  830. generated with my own software (i.e. non-Fractint GIFs, type=plasma).
  831. Since there's no Fractint type to check against, Fractint locks up.
  832. I submitted this bug to the wish list (and this list) a while back, 
  833. which may have prompted the L/search refinements Tim spoke of.
  834. This happens *way* too frequently for my taste, as I occasionally 
  835. try to load a new map before typing "E<CR>" (mea culpa).

  926. I'm no expert in dos or 'puters but at this point { since its such a small
  927. directory in my
  928. machine }   I'd store all personal , non executable items now contained in
  929. fractint in a safe directory somewhere in my drive and delete all of fractint
  930. ...includeing partobat. Wipe the whole file and reload it.    
  931.      Do you have an other dos program that you can test operation on?
  932. Have you called the manufacturer of your main box?
  933. Have you got the propper drive for the new hrdware? Things may have gotten
  934. wacked out if the old driver was trying to do something with an incompatable
  935. piece of hardware? 
  936.      Hummm....there has to be a file that is incharge of keyboard interface
  937. and keystrokes....but I've never been there. I'm sure someone on the list has.

  1037. that by hitting F10 the color is restored (phew).

  1040. other web troubles.  Glad to hear that some of you managed to get together. I'll
  1041. have all week to yell at my isp, so maybe we can try for next Saturday.
