Do you have any experience with the pascal programming language? In dos
pascal *all* functions / procs from the crt unit are text video mode
related.
Christian
>>>>Well, what does CRT mean in this case? I really doubt it's cathode ray
tube, because (almost) no program out there directly interfaces with it, and
that's only through a video card, which changes resolutions and refresh
rates and whatnot. The most direct manipulation I've ever seen (on a CRT, I
mean) is on a demo that changed the refresh rate dynamically to produce cool
looking swirls via interference patterns. (And that would probably be done
through the video card.)

Hello all...Well I've been lurking on this list for the past couple of
weeks, and figured maybe it was about time I actually posted one of my

surrounding the minibrot. Please everyone tell me what you think....

Nice image, Cliff! As you probably know if you've run any of
the pars I've posted to this list, I'm partial to images that
have minibrots in them. I especially like those that have a
high degree of symmetry around the minibrot. I'll be saving
the coordinates of your image to try with some different
rendering methods.

No formulas containing if..else logic work in Winfract. Pars cannot
refer to such formulas. Nor can they contain outside=atan; or bailout
tests other than mod. They cannot contain center-mag notation either;
nor can there be any skewing. And there is no arbitrary precision math,
i.e.: deep zooming. There are probably some other things I am
overlooking here. In short, lots of pars posted to this list do not work
in Winfract.

Subject: (fractint) Another Double Exposure Formula
comment {
This formula uses a coloring method related to the method
used in the Dbl_Expos_Newt1 formula that I posted a couple
of days ago. In that formula the color range was determined
by the iteration count. In this formula the color range is
determined by which of the four roots the pixel converges to.
In both formulas the color within the range is determined by
the 3D Stalk method. Both formulas are Newton's solution of
the equation (w*w - 1) * (w*w + c) = 0.
The pars included here are for the same areas as the previous
formula. I've used only two color ranges instead of four in
these pars, using each range twice. And I've used the same
colormap for all the pars. You may find it rewarding to
experiment with the colors.
I noticed that in the Dbl_Expos_Newt1 formula I messed
up on the indentation and had a useless "bailout = 1" line
in the formula, both of which were the result of cutting and
pasting code from other formulas. Hope that didn't confuse
anyone.

Subject: (fractint) 2nd par
Hi,
Here is the second par file I am submitting to this list. I spent most of the time
trying to get the colors right. I did what I though it should end up like, then I
tried other color maps that I have on my drive. I would like your comments. I still
have a lot to learn.

I seem to have done it again. All the mail I received on May 6, 7 and 8
seems to have disappeared from my computer <:( Until it gets posted
to the archives and I can download at least that portion of the missing
mail, I'm feeling my way in the dark :) Again :)

She was talking about Tiera-Zon. I haven't seen any documentation,
either, and just told someone else that there wasn't any. Was there
something in the LOST-MAIL that I missed? If I blew it, someone please
let me know so that I can set the record straight with my friend.
You're not alone Kirvyn. I feel a little stupid and embarrassed,
myself. Fortunately, however, it's a feeling that I'm quite used to and
have learned to live with quite nicely, thank you! :)))

Subject: (fractint) Among the Stars website
Finally, after months of work putting together first the show, and then t=

website, I invite you to visit the "Among the Stars" website which docume=
nts a
project whereby I was able to combine two of my passions =97 fractals and=
ballet.
http://www.ParkeNet.org/jp/amongstars.html
Julian Adamaitis, Don Archer, Bud Christenson, Dan Finton, Sylvie Gallet,=
Terry
W. Gintz, Alice Kelley, Garr Lystad, Bill Rossi, Les St. Clair, and Sharo=
n Webb
each graciously contributed images to the project. It was great fun to he=
ar the
audience's very positive reaction to seeing these unique images projected
onstage inbetween the ballets.
We are all searching, I think, for ways to share our love of fractals wit=
h
others and this project was a great success in that regard. Over 500 peop=
le saw
the two performances and some, I hope, have taken time to visit the websi=
te and
to then follow the links to some of the best fractal galleries on the web.
The site is graphics intensive, of course =97 not only with the fractals,=
but with
photographs from the production. I hope you'll take the time to visit and=
to let
me know what you think.
