i agree with charlie, if you want a swank pad you are going to have to spend
some swank dollars.
and on this subject, Target has some really swank reprodution chairs. they
are like the ones from the 50's that went with those colored formica tables
seen in diners and kitchens. they have the chrome legs and the vinyl is of a
good, thick and correctly sewn nature (read sentence again - i mentioned the
word vinyl so we will not be off topic).

The primary reason for this is that in order to get remainders (or at least at that volume) they've made deals with the publishers to sell only within the US. Still, I highly recommend Hamilton; I've been dealing with them for well over a decade and have only had a couple of problems which they fixed immediately.
If you don't want to have somebody in the US order and re-ship then you might try bookfinder.com which is a meta-search engine that goes through several out-of-print sources. Sometimes these turn up remainders as well and you're dealing directly with the book dealers.

They way I heard it was that it would cost more money to refurbish than
to tear down and build anew. Apparently, the place is a big state of disrepair.
Tearing down this one and rebuilding (perhaps on a not-quite-so-grand
scale) a brand new Kahiki isn't the worst scenario I can think of...
