Subject: Re: (dr350) Need Tire and Chain advice
Just got done doing the tire size letter for the list, here's the scoop on
tire sizes.
Metric size tires that have 100% aspect ratios (as in the stock DR tire,
110/100x18) are measured from sidewall to sidewall: this is NOT the overall
width of the actual tread. In this case the tire carcass measures 110mm's
wide and the cross-sectional height of the carcass is also 110mm's.
Metric size tires that have 90 or 80% aspect ratios are measured from the
outside edge of the outermost row of knobs (or tread) and are the actual
width of the tread. If you measure your stock 110/100x18 tire across the
tread you'll find the actual tread width is 130mm.
To answer your question, since a 110/100 tire is actually 130mm's across the
tread and since 130mm's is roughly equivalent to 5 1/8 inches, you should
have no trouble fitting the 4.60 tire on your bike. I would recommend you
stop by your local Dollar store (or its equivalent) and pick up a cheap
metric/english tape measure to toss in your tool box. It's great for checking
tire sizing ('cause most of the gnomes in the dealership won't know) and also
for setting up the sag on your suspension.
Hope this helps......

This is really good life for an MT-21. I usually replace the rear MT-21 after about 2000 miles, by then the center knobs on mine are usually 2/3-3/4 worn down. I ride about 95% dirt, some of which is on some really rock terrain which takes it toll on the knobs quite quickly.

foot pegs......
Yes, I use larger pegs - IMS makes some steel ones that are larger than stock, they sell for about $65.00. They are a good investment for agressive riders that like to stand up alot when riding the tight stuff.
I wouldn't get the rigid mounts because you may pick up some vibration in the pegs.
