Subject: (dr350) Where to buy springs?
Who would you recommend to buy fork springs and fluid from?
Race-Tech's web site was very nice as they had a chart that showed
recommended springs (.426 kg/mm) and fluid weight (10w), but I've
never bought springs from anyone before. Is there a difference in
spring manufacturer? And is the Race-Tech recommended spring rate the
right one for me?
Thanks in advance for any input.

Subject: (dr350) Vacuum line of the carb / Crank case vent line
Hi guys,
I have read several times in this list about a vacuum line coming off
the carb.
I think my carb doesn't have this vacuum line. Where should it be ? On
the top front right side of the carb ?
So far, I have the vent line on the right side (exhaust side) of the
carb (which I have already T-vented), the fuel line and a smaller line
coming off the bottom of the carb but it isn't connected to anything.
That third line is just hanging there, pointed down to the back of the
engine, near the swingarm pivot. I am starting to think that it
probably got loose and perhaps it should be connected to something,
please help me on this subject.
What's the deal about the crank case vent line connected to the airbox
manifold ? I read on MXA magazine that on the KLX300R replacing the
stock crank case line with a larger one would increase 2 HP ! Then I
read Pablo's message about the CRD kit where their instructions tell
us to remove that vent line and seal the holes with silicone...
I thought this line was meant to throw excessive oil from the crank
case into the airbox...

Only the SE models have a vacuum line that controls the automatic fuel tap.

Subject: (dr350) Experience w/ Michelin MX tires?
Any of you guys use the Michelin M12 (or was it M21?) tires? I was just a
Sam's (wholesale club like Costco) and noticed they were selling these from
$30-54 frnt/rear.
What I really want to know is....how to real MX knobbies work on the street?
I'm not due for an inspection till 2/00, and I've never had a cop look at
my tires when being pulled over. I *guess* the rear wouldnt feel much diff
on street than the Pirelli M-21 I'm running now. I've been using IRC GP-110
on front, and its great on street, but I wonder how much I'm giving up in
the dirt? Comments/ideas?

Suzuki DR350 suspension (stock) designed for a 145lb rider? Are you
sure that is correct? How many list members weigh in at 145lbs, or even
close? That is a very small adult man here in the USA.

I know that sounds absurd, but I'm basing it on Race-Techs Fork
spring chart at:
http://www.race-tech.com/reference/springchartdirt.htm
According to their data, the '98 DR350SE springs are measured at .39
kg/mm and the shock spring is rated at 5.7 kg/mm. They rate the ideal
rider weight to be a 145 lb rider.

I agree. I weigh about 190 lbs. w/gear. My fork springs are on
order (Thanks Jessie) and after I'm done setting up my forks, I'll get
the rear spring and kouba link.
