Hi Renaud welcome to the DR350 list, Jesse here in Grants Pass Oregon. The DR350 dirt
model is lighter, plastic tank vs your steel tank and also probably geared down for the
trails. It also has a pumper carburetor which is more responsive than your CV
carburetor. hope this answers your question, if you have more I will try to answer

I just put on a pumper carb, the magic airbox and free-flowing
exhaust and I'm very happy with the results. You'll find a kit
for fitting the carb to the DR350S from White Brothers.
You'll also see a huge difference in bite by changing the
sprocket ratio. This is probably the most cost-effective
change you can make - though you'll give up top speed.
BTW, Jesse has been extremely helpful in my pursuit to boost
power. Hats off!

Hey Claudio- On my 95 SE, the stock main was 127.5; I am running a 135 now
w/ cut box & FMF MegaMax exhaust. 140 might be better, cause I still have a
little popping when decelerating. Be aware that your stock needle may not
have any adjustment notches....my stock needle only had one notch.....which
is one reason to get the JX needle & spring. I also raised my JX needle one
notch so that it is now one notch above the lowest one.
You should be prepared to adjust your pilot valve also....may need the next
larger size and a Scott T-handle to make things easier. You will have to
drill through a thin casting to be able to adjust it if the carb is like the
ones we get in the US.
One other thing....while you have your exhaust off, pull the header pipe off
the engine. Look inside the pipe. You will probably see 2mm or so of
excess weld bead that was created when the flange was welded to the pipe.
That weld should be ground down flat...smooth with the inside surface of the
pipe. Dont know if it will help much, but it sure cant hurt!

Hi guys,
Really need your help quickly...
I already have the straight through exhaust, opened the airbox, put a
#140 main, raised the needle (clip on the 4th position from above) but
as I trying to see how many turn the mixture screw was able to do, I
somehow managed to forget which has the stock position...
As taking the carb off is a pain in the... I would like to get it the
best possible at the first try.
I don't have the T handle...
Any suggestions ?
About the airbox, there's a metal plate inside it that I know is to
avoid the possibility of the air filter get a spark and burn (at least
this is what I read in a mag...). I removed it... what do you guys
think ?

I am thinking about fitting some fog lights to my 96 DR350SP,
Is there a maximum wattage that I sould be looking for, so a dont drian the
battery.
And is there any legal height in which fog lights can be placed, as I wont

Claudio, If you are going to really get into tuning your DR you need the "T" on the
fuel screw so you can adjust it when the engine is warmed up and running. In your case,
start the engine, adjust the fuel screw with a short screwdriver. Turn the adjuster
out untill the engine slows, turn it in untill the engine slows, turn it back to half
way in between, thats as good as it gets. To answer your question, if you have the
proper pilot jet the fuel screw should be approx 1.75 turns open. If you have to go
over 2.5 turns open, you will need a larger pilot jet. I'm not sure what you mean by a
metal plate in the airbox but there is a backfire screen in the air boot that you can
remove and put on top of the airbox to keep the big pieces out after you have opened up
the airbox top to slightly smaller than the outside diameter of the screen. Happy

Subject: (dr350) Acerbis Tanks
You guys and gals running the Acerbis tanks with dual pick ups.....
Question:???>>> How much of the fuel is usable. I know it says 4+
gallons but the dip in front seems fairly deep ( by the pic on Acerbis
website) and the fuel petcocks are located where?. Say we're running
down a two lane hiway trying to get to a camping riding area 500 miles
away........ how much of this fuel are you gonna be able to use before
running out??. I know the IMS 3.5 gals tank is only good for about 2.4
gallons with out having to stop and slosh gas to the pickup side and you
still don't get it out of the front dip.
