Mike, I talked to Rob Barnum sometime back and He used to do alot of DR
mods. and he was saying some good things about the Quicksilver, however my dirt
only is ported has the 435, megacycle cam, bored out pumper carb, oversize header
pipe and Mega 4 Exhaust ,Magic airbox and it is perfect, the stock carb is really
hard to beat, my jetting is stock 37.5 pilot, needle at 4th groove and main at
.060 drill size. I have done four of these DRs and they are all set up this way .
Hope this helps
Jesse.

Hello Listers!
I've been approached about the possibility of promoting a dirt oriented
dual sport
ride on 14,000 private acres about 15 minutes outside of Bainbridge, GA.,
about 45 minutes north of Tallahassee FL. It would be a charity type event,
primitive camping( port-o-lets, no showers) at the start area, hotels in
Bainbridge, GA. This is being
talked about for September of this year. I've been told we can get about
100 miles of trail and roads. The people who wanna do this are looking at
wanting to
do a two day event with about 100 riders so they can get the amount of money
they told the landowner they could get.
Realistically, How many Listers would come to Bainbridge, GA
for a dirt oriented (read: enduro type) dual sport ride in September? Please
respond ASAP
as we're trying to work this out and get it off the ground.
Please respond off list to
wdsrc@gte.net
Thanks,
Robert Frey

Subject: (dr350) bike stand?
Hey guys
I'm thinking of getting a bike stand for the DRs. Will any of the MX ones
work? Plus what's the best way to put the bike on to the stand?
I'm thinking about the plastic one "bike crate" or something like that.
thanks
Bryant

Nope - the MX type is too tall for the DR, unless you're a he-man and can lift
the DR easily - although some maker have a lower version for the DR/XRs.
The cheapest way by far is to measure the ground clearance, add what you feel is
comfortable, then go to WalMart or the like and get the two-step stool type of
adequate height. That way it can double for ease of access to the bed of your
pickup.

Subject: Re: (dr350) bike stand?
Hi ,
I use a stand that was made for mx bikes, the DRs ground clearance is with in
the range or close to the MX bikes , it can be easily if you own a welding
machine or have access to it , i paid $35 for ,it seems a little too much but
this was one of the least expensive.
(picture at) : www.acronet.net/~mtctech/DRPICS/
Advantage ,
1: you can place it under the foot pegs to get the rear wheel of the ground ,
or place it toward the front to get the front wheel off.
2: Easy to lift the bike .
3: you can hang it on the garage rafters
Disadvantage :
Not too stabile
I tried the crate , but with my DRSE being 300 LB. I said,"no thanks" since
i could not put the bike on it by my self , not even before a ride.
There are hydraulic ones, but much more expensive.
