Thumper Racing catalog shows a Pirelli MT44 90x90-21 that
is DOT approved. This tire is supposed to work well on
all terrain and mud. Has anyone tried this?

O.K. folks... I'll come clean. I've been lurking on this list for quite
awhile. Every so often I interject something of relevance, but most often I
just read the mail. Why? Because I don't own a DR. At this point in my
life I'm a KLR guy. It's been a great bike for me... BUT, after reading
post after post of Jessie's excellent, patient and informative advice - I am
feeling compelled to buy a DR... ANY DR... just so I can ask him a question.
=-)
Jessie, your wealth of knowledge, and tireless ability to share are simply
awesome! Maybe some day I can ask you something too. lol...
Cheers and hats off,
Arne

Another question about jetting, etc. .... I know, just what everyone wants to
talk about!
Yesterday I replaced the stock header pipe with a White Bros. on my DR350. A
previous owner had opened up the airbox and the last owner installed a
Supertrapp muffler. Plug color seemed okay before with gray over the
electrodes and some black around the rim of the plug. Have had no problems
with it running, once I get it started! First start of day is a pain, but
easy after that. My question then is will I have to rejet the carb after
installing this new header pipe? Have not had the carb off yet, so I don't
know what is in there. I am coming up short on time right now since I
installed it for Moab next week and now I am thinking of the carb and
jetting.... good timing!

Subject: (dr) From 95 DR350SE to 00 DRZ400S
I did it! I went to my local Suzuki dealership and I purchased a 2000
DRZ400S! I love my 95 DR350SE, but I just could not resist. I figured that
with all the modifications I was planning for the bike; (Vortex airbox,
suspension, changing the bike over to all black body parts, etc.), that I
would be investing a reasonable amount of $$$ anyways, so why not just go
the distance. The reason I am telling the list this, is because now I will
be selling my 95 DR350SE. I live in Burlington, Vt, so I assume this would
only apply to East-Coasters. The bike is in good condition, and runs smooth
as silk. It has 4,900 miles on it. I just put on brand new Pirelli MT 21's
front and back. Also included in the deal is the Suzuki factory repair
manual. The bike was recently serviced and inspected by my local Suzuki
dealer less than 500 miles ago. I would be looking to get around $2,200, but
would be willing to field offers. If anybody is interested, please contact
me off-list at: don@varc.edu

Craig,
Well, I'll tell you this, my STOCK DR350 starts fine, runs fine, and
goes as fast as I need it to. Sometimes less is more. I think you are
working too hard at it. Sit back and decide what you really want to use
it for. Are you running motocross? Or are you riding dual sport? If it's
the former, sell the DR and get a DRZ. If it's the latter, why bother?
