Gregory,
I can not help you with your local dealers, but I can help you with the german
Hepco sites or get other information for you.
Just tell me what info you need, what kind of 'pannier rack' (not shure about
the english word) you use to mount the panniers on ...

Hi David,
My wife and I were travelling in South America (Chile, Argentina, Bolivia,
and Peru) in 1998 (I was on a XR650L and my wife on a DR650SE) for six
months. We never had any fuel trouble, other than running out several times
in Patagonia! I remember specifically that unleaded fuel was easily
available in Bolivia, and besides, leaded fuel won't hurt anyway.
I believe that the compression ratio on the '96 or newer DR650 is similar to
the ratio on the DR350, and we never had any problem anywhere in South
America with the 650, so I wouldn't worry about it.
I would definitely recommend a Scottoiler for travelling - worth every
penny! It was the one modification
that we did not do that I wish we had done.
Hope this helps,
Chris

Sorry, but I need to ask the same old question.
I'm a bit confused as to what jets I might need until I take the carb off
and check what's on there. My (standard) 1998 DR350SE apparently has a 127.5
main jet (according to the dealer) and I was recommended to go up to a 137.5
for the air box chop (as is frequently mentioned).
Could someone confirm that I have bought the right increase ? Can anyone
confirm that the later UK spec model has a 127.5?
Sorry to be a pain but I will be doing the mod to a tight schedule with no
opportunity to change the jet if its wrong.
Thanks !

I'm looking for aftermarket plastic for my '94 DR350S. Anyone know who
might be a good source for such a thing? I'm hoping to get something other
than just white and I wouldn't mind stuff that's a little different than
stock, as long as it can easily be made to fit and not look like a garage
special.
I'm also looking for a used stock plastic DR350R fuel tank. I would be
glad to trade an oversized (3 or 3.5 gallon, I'm not sure) tank for your
stock plastic one. I just don't like the looks of the bigger tank and
don't really need the extra range.
Thanks,
Billy

Hi Steve. My 96 (registered, 95 model) 350SES came with a 137.5 from the
factory. I'm currently running a 147.5 with Jesse's airbox...probably too
rich but the plug's the right colour and it runs well. The jets only cost a
couple of quid each so it's worth getting one or two either side of what you
think you want. Is there a Haynes or Clymer manual that'll tell you what's
in there already? 127.5 sounds too small to me.
If you read this Jesse, I just stuck a second-hand LaserPro silencer on.
It's way to loud really, but the really annoying thing is the backfire on
the overrun. No air leaks that I can see. I know you posted something
about this a couple of weeks ago but I didn't take it in as I had no problem
at the time. Was it the pilot jet? The bikes come with a CV carb this side
of the pond.
Cheers!
Andy

Billy,
there is a used DR350R tank for $50 at this site.
http://www.fourstrokesonly.com/Closeoutsale.html However this tank will
not fit the S model without some modifications that include welding a
bracket to the frame. There is more discussion of the mods needed in
the dr archives from about four months ago I believe. As far as plastic
I now Maier http://www.maier-mfg.com/ has plastic for the DR , not
sure aaaabbbbout colors though.
Good Luck, Mike in ashland Oregon, 93 DR350S

So, I am thinking that the enduro model with the non-CV carb perhaps has a
127.5 jet and mine (CV) has something else ???
Looks like I might have to rip it out tonight and have a look. Darn.
