I wish to first offer a sincere apology to Kurt.I am
sorry and did not mean to offend you or any other list
members.Although Arne has deemed me as "slimy" that is
not the way this was to be taken. It was to promote
more info for our bikes although I did state I liked
the forum set up better and this was only an opinion
and one I should have kept to myself. This list has
been a very valuable source of info to me and I have
met very knowledgeable people through it.Please accept
this as I plead the fact that I am not a mean or
dishonest person. The courtesy I did miss and should
have put well more thought into what I did before I
did it.In no way did I want to imply to all for an
abondon ship to this list.If I could do it all over
again I would certianly have done it differently.Kurt
if you would e-mail me your home phone# I would gladly
apologize to you personally. There is nothing more I
can say I feel my character has been tarnished and
I've never met anyone of you.

In Johns defense I have to admit that I went to the site he talked about (I
feel so cheap and dirty) and he did promote our list on that site. Without
trying to get everyone ticked at me I believe there is no such thing as to
much information. Having said all that let it be known that I have been a
member of this list since near the beginning and do not believe that another
site could ever threaten its superior efforts at informing all of us die hard
DR owners.

Not quite John... I said what you 'did' was slimy... I never said you were.
However, after reading this, I can see that you are sincere and are truly a
person of the utmost integrity. If anything, your character has been
strengthened.

apology accepted! Very kind of you John and no reason to feel badly any
longer. It was the second time that it had happened in two weeks and I was
touchy about it. You showed a lot of character and integrity in your
response. Thanks once again. I've made my mistakes as well. The internet is
an extraordinarily powerful medium and it is unlike almost anything any of
us have experienced...Arne, John O., Redondo, Fred Hink and a few others on
this list have seen the incredible success that we've enjoyed with the KLR
list that Arne now runs. Together with Gino Pokluda's Kawasaki 650 Dual
Sport News it has created an amazing aftermarket support for the KLR650. I'm
convinced we can do that for all of the DR's if we stick together and show
that we are a potential customer base of considerable proportions. There is
plenty of work to be done and I'm just wanting us to remain consolidated in
our efforts.

Hey Kurt,
When I talked to Progressive about the rear spring
situation, they were adament about the fact that the spring from the
420(or 620?) shock would NOT fit the stock shock. And I'm not sure it
would help in the sag dept. It is progressive and something like 6.2Kg
to 6.9Kg. Just FYI...
The 415 is the shock that we need. Fully adjustable, remote reservior,
etc..problem is they don't make it anymore.

I used Progressive Larry Roesler springs for the front. The rear
springs are
a problem we're just now trying to solve. I'm having the Progressive
620
shock spring installed on my stocker. I'm going to lose the ability to
factory lower the bike but I should be moving up from a 6.5 kg to a 7.0
kg.
More when I get it back. Ohlins also lists a rear shock for the DR.

It could be Jan, I already know that it is one inch longer, the stock body
will accomodate that because it is threaded for a tremendous length to
accomplish the lowering. They told us it was 6.2 to 7 kg which might
help...I should have word any day now.

Hello All,
I've posted my DR650 web page although it is far from finished.
Kurt, please check that the link to join the dr list is correct.
Fred, please check that rally 2000 link is correct.
I've asked Jan to perhaps to a small article with photos on a supertrapp
exhaust for the page. I hope he will have the time to do it. If any of you
have any suggestions or would like to post something please let me know.
There is a section for other DR650's, Rainers already there. Perhaps Kurt
and Jan and all others would like to post a picture with info.
The site is http://www.telusplanet.net/public/seefeldt/dr/index.html
Thanks,
Shayne.
