Different strokes for different folks; as far as I'm personally
concerned, European comics are nice, but there are plenty of American
comics that are higher priorities for me with a limited budget.
As for a market for Euro-comics in America, realize that in any medium
from comics to film to music, the majority of foreign material will be
seen sort of like underground material, appealing to a different
sensibility than the popular mainstream comics. There will always be
the few stand-outs, like Moebius, but most European comics will always
have a small, limited following in America. That following will be
devoted, though, and they'll always be there.
As long as the importers aren't expecting their comics to sell the same
way in America as in Europe, there won't be a problem.
