  36. As one of those lurkers, I appreciate those press releases that give =
  37. me news about the comics business.
  38. I agree it would be interesting to discuss other aspects, such as the =
  39. possibilities for European publishers to have their publications =
  40. published on the US markets.
  41. As you may know, only a few of our artists have been able to sell =
  42. books in the United States (for a very specialized public): Moebius, =
  43. Schuiten, Herg=E9 (with very little success as compared with its huge =
  44. popularity in Europe), Uderzo...
  45. Our Spirou adventures have been published in the US, but the results =
  46. are very poor as compared to the sellings of the European versions.
  47. The "Kid Comics" site we just launched is a totally experimental site =
  48. on which we will test the possibilities for European characters to =
  49. attract American Kids.
  50. If, with an humour e-zine, full of free online comics, gifts and =
  51. funny tricks, we do not succeed to interest then, we will conclude =
  52. definitively that there is no hope to break the cultural barrier.
