Hi!
As one of those lurkers, I appreciate those press releases that give =
me news about the comics business.
I agree it would be interesting to discuss other aspects, such as the =
possibilities for European publishers to have their publications =
published on the US markets.
As you may know, only a few of our artists have been able to sell =
books in the United States (for a very specialized public): Moebius, =
Schuiten, Herg=E9 (with very little success as compared with its huge =
popularity in Europe), Uderzo...
Our Spirou adventures have been published in the US, but the results =
are very poor as compared to the sellings of the European versions.
The "Kid Comics" site we just launched is a totally experimental site =
on which we will test the possibilities for European characters to =
attract American Kids.
If, with an humour e-zine, full of free online comics, gifts and =
funny tricks, we do not succeed to interest then, we will conclude =
definitively that there is no hope to break the cultural barrier.
I would be pleased to read your opinions about this one.
