Subject: (cdc) missing practice
Date: 07 Mar 2000 16:03:43 PST
Hello all. I will not be at dance practice tomorrow. I injured my back,
and while it is healing, I still have to lay down every 30 min. or so.
Could Jurgen or Landolf or both take charge? I'm still trying to contact
the kingdom chronicler. Thank you very much for helping. If you need the
key, I should be home tomorrow evening, probably laying on the couch with an
ice pack again.

I, too, will not be able to attend practice.
Jurgi, it looks like you're the man. Do you want to stop by and get the dance CD's and player? Katerina may want a ride, too.

Subject: (cdc) Dance tonight
Date: 08 Mar 2000 14:41:01 -0700
Here's the deal. Our van won't be done for a few more days. Dan and
Beckey McClure will not be going up. If we come up it will be just us
and our children. No room for the Crows. Is there enough people to
support dance practice tonight? If not and I come and just sit, I will
not be a happy camper since there is enough for me to do at home. I am
leaving here at 3:00. Please advise be before then or call me at home.
Thanks,
Jurgi

I'm sorry I'm so slow replying. My computer is out and I'm borrowing my
friend's. Nick, send your membership number to the chronicler, that's what
is hold ing things up. Email is okay. I'm sorry about dance practice. I'm
hoping things will do better this week. I can now stand and walk at least
somewhat normally most of the time. But sitting is still out for 90 percent
of the time. Hope to see you soon.

ps. sympathies to everyone else who seems to be having a rough time lately
as well.

Subject: (cdc) Demo "opportunity"
Date: 23 Mar 2000 12:16:07 -0700
The Sunshine Terrace has asked if the SCA will do a demo for them in
April. Sunshine Terrace is a nursing home--some of those who will
see the demo live there, some just come for activities during the
day. The demo would be indoors for an hour.
The dates and times available are:
Thursday, April 6 at 10:30 am
Friday, April 7 at 10:30 am
Wednesday, April 12 at 1:30 pm
Friday, April 14 at 2 pm
Please let me know if this is something the Shire membership wants to
do.

Subject: (cdc) Pattern-making class
Date: 24 Mar 2000 12:30:56 -0700
Jo-ann's fabrics is offering a free pattern-making class in Logan on
Monday, March 27. There are four one-hour sessions at 10 am, 2 pm,
5 pm, & 7 pm. It is probably a sales pitch for a product, but there
is no obligation or cost for attending. The same class is on
Tuesday, March 28, at 145 North Washington Blvd in Ogden for you
southern-shire members who may want to attend.

I apologize to all those who did not get the message about the cancellation.
I think the phone tree will be discussed at populace meeting. Part of the
problem is no one knows all of the phone numbers that are needed. I am now
back on line and can respond to messages (hopefully) in a timely manner. I
hope this missive gets out in time, again I apologize because it was last
evening that our computer started acting normally again. Here is a brief
outline of the things I would like to happen at populace meeting tomorrow
evening. And a reminder, garb helps create ambiance, this is sort of a
special meeting and ambiance is good.
New Officer inductions
If you are a new deputy or new officer, please plan to attend to be sworn
in. Also, if you have an officer favor, please bring it or send it to the
meeting (I should be home all day today and tomorrow and would be willing to
pick up any that need to be picked up. Just let me know.)
Officer Reports
Briefly state what's going on. If you are new, please let us know what
your goals and hopes are for your new office.
Event updates
For these, depending on how soon the event is, I'd like the stewards to
let the populace know how things are going or what needs to be done, if we
need to delegate a bit. I'd like to talk about:
Ren Fair
St. Pyre's
Harvest (just what is up so far)
Discussions
There have been some good ideas fielded and I would like to have more
input and suggestions on the following:
phone list and tree
Sunshine demo
page's college (it takes an entire village to raise a child, that means
everyone could be involved)
Anything else that someone feels needs to be addressed.
I don't think Populace meeting needs to be extremely long and dull. If we
get through everything in time, is anyone up to dancing afterwards?
Also, if you have ideas or suggestions, but cannot make it to the meeting,
feel free to call me or email me and I'll take notes and pass them along.
Thank you for all of your help and input. Hope to see you there.

HL Grainne,
Please read this tonight as I will not be able to attend...
Dear shire,
Well as you can probably tell I am not able to join you tonight due to
mundane employment issues. I was promoted to Quality Control Team Lead, and
we have a big deadline push that we are going through so I am spending alot
of time here at the office (the couch in the lounge is really comfortable,
in fact since the 16th i've been home 8 nights well 8 out of 14 is'nt too
bad).
Everything for harvest war seems to be going according to plan. I need to
get some numbers for people and whatever else is required for the next phase
of preparations.
Chroniclers office reports in as thing are going ok. We should have a
Bear's Tale out soon but it will consist mostly of HL Grainne's submissions.
What I'm trying to say here is submit please.
That's all Floks
In Service,
Raven

My apologies as well, for not attending. Not only was it my
birthday, but I spent most of the day trying to operate effectively
with a migraine (which made for a fairly lousy birthday).
If it counts for anything, I was there in spirit at least part of the
time...;)
