  41. SPOILERS: None. 
  42. SUMMARY: This takes place immediately after Becoming Parts 1 and 2. It=92=
  43. s=0Apretty much my own episode after this. Enjoy!

  50. =09"Get away from her," Angel growled, all vamped up, as he ran into Buff=
  51. y=92s=0Aroom. Pike still lay on the floor unconsious, so it was up to him=
  52.  to get=0ADrusilla away.
  53. =09"Angel," she smiled, "you=92re back."
  54. =09He ran over to her and ripped her off Buffy. She grabbed his neck and =
  55. shoved=0Ahim against the wall. Quickly, he hit her arm and kicked her in =
  56. the stomach.=0AUnfased, she clawed his face. Blood started to drip from h=
  57. is cheek. As he put=0Ahis hand to his face, she hit him hard. He hit the =
  58. ground but tripped her as=0Ashe came towards him. When she got up, he gra=
  59. bbed her jaw. 
  60. =09"Angel, you can=92t hurt me, not after all you=92ve done," she said, a=
  61. lmost=0Abegged. He closed his eyes and twisted her face so her neck snapp=
  62. ed. The=0Alifeless body fell to the ground. He grabbed a leg of a chair a=
  63. nd broke it in=0Ahalf. With pain he stuck it into her chest.
  64. =09As Angel started to walk over to Buffy, Pike jumped him. "Don=92t you =
  65. touch=0Aher, man."
  66. =09"Get off of me," Angel sneered. He threw Pike off his back into the ch=
  67. air.
  68. =09"Get the hell away from her." Angel tried to throw a punch at him, but=
  69.  Pike=0Ablocked it, sending a hard one his way. He grabbed a stake, ready=
  70.  to kill=0AAngel when Giles, Cordelia, Willow, Xander, and Oz ran in the =
  71. room. "Don=92t,=0Athat=92s Angel!" Willow cried.
  72. =09Just before the stake touched his chest, Pike stopped. He looked up to=
  73.  see=0Aeveryone around. "How=92d you guys get through?" he asked.
  74. =09"That=92s besides the point. Right now-" Giles said.
  75. =09"Angel," Buffy moaned, waking up. "Angel=85" 
  76. =09"Buffy?" Angel cried.
  77. =09"Omigod," Cordelia cried.
  78. =09Angel ran over to the limp Buffy. "I=92m right here."
  79. "Angel," she cried, tears flowing down her cheeks, "I=92ve waited so long=
  80.  for=0Athis moment. I love you."
  81. =09"I love you. I=92m never going to let you go." He kissed her. She retu=
  82. rned the=0Akiss with and even more passionate one.
  83. =09The life started to drain out of Buffy. "Close your eyes."
  84. =09"No, Buffy, I=92m not letting you go-"=09
  85. =09"Close your eyes," she ordered. He did as he was told this time. Buffy=
  86. =0Astruggled to hold back her tears as she placed a final kiss on his lip=
  87. s.=0ASuddenly Angel felt Buffy=92s body go limp. 
  88. "No," Willow cried. "NO, NO, NO!" She put her hands into her face as she=
  89. =0Acried. Oz came over to her and hugged her tightly.
  90. "Buffy," Xander whispered, his face turning white. "Buffy." Silently, he=
  91. =0Astarted crying. Cordelia came over to him, and they held each other in=
  92.  their=0Aarms. Cordelia comforted him as the woman he loved died. 
  93. Giles removed his glasses and put his hand to his face. He tried to hold =
  94. back=0Atears but was unsuccessful.
  95. Mrs. Summers came into the room to see everyone crying and knew what was =
  96. going=0Aon. "Buffy," she cried, "no, no. She=92s not-she can=92t be dead.=
  97.  No, Buffy.=0APlease, God, please=85" Giles embraced her as she wept in a=
  98. gony. 
  99. Tears fell down Angel=92s face as he saw the dead corpse in front of him.=
  100.  He=0Adidn=92t utter a word as he placed a kiss on her pale lips.

  122. as best as I could to fill in the blanks but you have to read

  128.         His lips gently brushed her forehead. Pulling a stray hair 
  129. away from her face, he sighed.  "Goodnight, my love." Angel 
  130. gently stroked her arm as he made his way to the door. 
  131.         "Angel?" Buffy awoke, almost as if she knew he 
  132. was trying to leave.
  133.         "I'm sorry. I didn't mean to wake you." He returned to 
  134. her and took her hand.
  135.         "It's okay, good dreams haven't exactly been happening 
  136. lately."
  137.         His face saddened.  He knew that she was talking about 
  138. him, whether she would ever admit to it or not.  When the demon 
  139. inside him had control, there was no telling what damage he could 
  140. do.  Angel dropped his eyes, wishing he could just go back in time 
  141. and fix everything. If only they had known.
  142.         "Are you leaving?"
  143.         "Yeah. The sun's gone down; I need to head home."  He 
  144. didn't want to say that it was because he was starving and seeing 
  145. her made it even more difficult to control himself. 
  146.         "You're coming back?"
  147.         "Of course. I'll be back later tonight. Now get some rest!"
  148.         "Alright," she said, smiling.
  149.         Angel gently raised her hand to his lips and placed a 
  150. gentle kiss on it.
  151.         "Goodnight," she said, nearly falling asleep as she let the 
  152. sedative take effect.
  153.         He reluctantly let her go and left her to sleep. 
  154.         "How is she?" Xander asked, approaching Angel as he left her 
  155. room.
  156.         "She's better. Finally let the medicine work."
  157.         "Good."
  158.         The two stood in an awkward silence; Xander had so much he 
  159. wanted to say to Angel.  He still couldn't understand why Buffy would 
  160. even consider taking him back, but he was starting to accept the fact 
  161. that the ægood' Angel was back.
  162.         "Look, I've gotta head home. I'll be back tonight." 
  163.         "Okay." Xander tried to keep it short and sweet, avoiding 
  164. any serious conversation.  He just wasn't ready yet. One day, the 
  165. two of them would exchange some harsh words and then, maybe, 
  166. they could go back to just despising each other. But now, it was just 
  167. too soon.        
  168.         Angel walked away, heading for the entrance.  He knew it 
  169. wasn't necessary to say anything else. Xander had every reason 
  170. in the world to hate him.  He had done nothing but cause both his 
  171. friends and him trouble.  Maybe sometime in the future--after 
  172. he had accepted everything himself--he could begin to heal the 
  173. wounds he caused to Buffy and her friends. Sometime, after he and 
  174. Buffy had taken care of Savarah.
  175.         If it weren't for Buffy's controlling effect on him, he would have 
  176. been on his way to kill her now. But Buffy was too important to him, 
  177. and he couldn't do that to her. After all Savarah had done to both of 
  178. them, she deserved a chance to work out her issues as well. She'd 
  179. get that chance; he owed her that at least.
