My gosh, I never realized it until reading the statement above: Cordelia
is the Ray Vecchio of "Buffy the Vampire Slayer"! (Sorry, "Due South"
reference.) Somehow I imagine her filling that same niche in the upcoming
"Angel" as well.

So very true.
However, I also think that Sarah is in a dangerous spot with Buffy.
Long running shows like this tend to pigeon hole actors... I mean,
honestly- will Micheal J. Fox ever be anything more than Micheal
Keaton? Or Alyssa Milano, for that matter... she will always be Sam
Miceli (a slutty, cosmetically enhanced version, but nonetheless)...
george clooney... shannen doherty... all of them have personaes that
lasted long enough on television that they became an indelible audience
prejudice.
Sarah Michelle Gellar could very easily become "the chick who plays
Buffy". So while I agree that this risque film may be a gamble, I think
she is trying to swing the pendulum in the other direction in order to
be seen as an actress- as opposed ot her well known and loved tv
character.

"My show is stupid."
-- Springer on Late Night With David Letterman.
Since anything is possible, especially on the Hellmouth, it is
conceivable that one day in the not too distant future, that Jerry
Springer may take his 'stupid' show to our favorite town known as
Sunnydale. Should this happen, I'm sure all of you can imagine the
population of Sunnydale will provide more than enough guests to appear on
Springer's theme shows. Here are some theme show possibilities:
1. "I was a teenage nerd, but look at me now!" Guest: Principal Snyder
2. "I want to kill my cheating boyfriend." Guest: Cordelia
3. "Torn between two lovers." Guest: Xander
4. "Hell -- Been There Done That." Guest: Angel
5. "My daughter is driving me crazy!" Guest: Joyce Summers
6. "My mom doesn't understand me." Guest: Buffy Summers
7. "I am woman, hear me roar." Guest: Willow
8. "Books can be fun." Guest: Giles
9. "Cleanliness is next to Godliness." Guest: Mayor of Sunnydale
10. "Lycanthropy has been given a bad rap." Guest: Oz
11. "I may look slutty, but it's part of my job." Guest: Faith
12. "Love will keep us together...forever." Guests: Spike and Drusila
I'm sure there are others, that your bright, imaginative, Buffy-saturated
minds can come up with.

When Joyce lets her daughter drive at all that is.

Hmmm. But Angel *isn't* a vampire. That demon that takes over is. And
blaming Angel for what the demon does when he's in control is like -
well, imagine that someone owns a car. Someone else steals the car and
uses it to run over an innocent victim. You can't blame the owner of
the car for the thief's actions just because it was his car that was
used... Which is why Xander's little tirades when Angelus was running
amok got on my nerves, especially when in response to "What happened to
Angel isn't his fault" he said "But what happened to Miss Calendar is."
What happened to Miss Calendar *isn't* Angel's fault. I would have
found it more logical if Xander had said something along the lines of
"We know it isn't Angel's fault, but it isn't Angel anymore, and that
demon needs to be killed."

Maybe this is just Entertainment Tonight's style but in that segment they
ran on Cruel Intentions, they did make it seem like the movie will be
marketed as "Buffy Goes Bad", a phrase they actually used to describe the
film. And they kept calling SMG "Buffy". They promoted the segment as
"Buffy the Vampire Slayer's sexy new movie -- next on ET".

Xander is the realest character on the show. Before you say WHAT??!! or
some other expletive, let me explain. I remember when I went to high school
(a mere 7 years ago), and from what I recall of my friends and myself during
that time most of us were like Xander. We had likes, dislikes, friends,
enemies, raging hormones, and alot of insecurities. While I never had to deal
with demons or risk my life staking a vampire, my high school life is
something I'd never want to relive because I did alot of stupid things back
then (of course this is hindsight, at the time it all made perfect sense).
Just like Xander. We also did alot of respectable and mature things too.
Just like Xander. So before you bash Xander for his "stupidity" or
"immaturity", remember that he's just a teenager. Oh, and here's something to
chew on....all this passionate hate directed towards Xander (no matter what he
does), is exactly what he feels for Angel.

I just got the new BtVS Magazine this afternoon. There is a good interview
with ASH in it. In one part of the interview he says:
"The question of whether Giles new attitude will translate to a new love
remains to be seen. And despite and episode six dalliance with Joyce Summers
which he says is sure to yield long-term repercussions, don't expect Buffy to
be calling Giled "Dad" anytime soon."
Long term repercussions? HMMMMMM???

Hey is anyone else thinking what I'm thinking? A Very Special Musical
Buffy. There would be big chorus numbers with the vamps dancing and
singing (and if Dru was back, she would be carried around by the vamps a la
Madonna's Material Girl video) , the scooby gang would have this dance
number in the library--sliding down banisters and dancing on desks--there
would be a fight scene with buffy, faith and a whole lot of vamps dancing
around them...Larry and the football team could prance around the
locker-room (don't ask me why that came to mind..just remembering Larry's
hilarious "if we could just not have as many mysterious deaths this year"
line in "Anne") If Drew Carey did it, Buffy can do it. So you guys with me?
