  1. Windows 2008 VMs (32/64/R2) running on Xen that use VMDP drivers need a VMDP
  2. update.  The currently available VMDP drivers do not recognize the new viridian
  3. cpuid strings.  By not recognizing the viridian cpuid strings, the VMDP drivers
  4. fail to load.  The VM will still be able to boot up and function utilizing the
  5. emulated qemu devices.

  7. The updated VMDP drivers have been enhanced to also reognize the viridian cpuid
  8. strings and is backwards compatible to pre SLES 11 SP2 hosts.

  10. Windows 2003 VMs are not required to update the VMDP drivers.  Windows 2003 VMs
  11. do not use the viridian enhancements.
