  1. Setting up Windows 2000 for Zipcon
  2. ----------------------------------

  4. Right mouse click on "My Network Places" and select Properties in the
  5. menu.
  6.  
  7. Double click on "Create new connection".  Click "Next".
  8.  
  9. Choose "Dial-up to Internet".  Click "Next".
  10.  
  11. Choose "I want to set up my Internet connection manually..."  Click
  12. "Next".
  13.  
  14. Choose "I connect through a phone line and a modem".  Click "Next".
  15.  
  16. In the Telephone number box, type in "206-576-7500", leave the area code
  17. box as is.
  18.  
  19. Uncheck the box "Use area code and dialing rules", you don't need to click
  20. on the "Advanced" button.  Click "Next".
  21.  
  22. Type your login/username into the "User name" box and your password into
  23. the "Password" box.  They should be all lowercase.  Click "Next".
  24.  
  25. When the "Connection name" box comes up, you can rename it to "Zipcon" if
  26. you like.  Click "Next".
  27.  
  28. Choose "Yes" to "Do you want to set up an Internet mail account now".  
  29. Click "Next".
  30.  
  31. If its asks if you want to use an existing or create a new Internet mail
  32. account, choose "Create a new Internet mail account".  Click "Next".
  33.  
  34. In the "Display name" box, type in your name as you'd like it to appear
  35. when you send email.  This is not your email address.  For instance "John
  36. Doe".  Click "Next".
  37.  
  38. In the "Email address" box, type in your email address, which is your
  39. username with an @zipcon.net after it, for instance john@zipcon.net.  
  40. Click "Next".
  41.  
  42. Leave POP3 in the upper box and type "mail.zipcon.net" into the Incoming
  43. mail and Outgoing mail server boxes.  Click "Next".
  44.  
  45. Type in your login/username in the "Account name" box and your password in
  46. the "Password" box.  They should be all lowercase.  Do not check the
  47. "Login using Secure Password Authentication" box.  Click "Next".
  48.  
  49. You should now see an icon for the connection to Zipcon.  If you double
  50. click on that icon, a window will appear asking for you to connect to the
  51. Internet.  Just click the "Dial" button to connect.
