Setting up Windows 2000 for Zipcon

Right mouse click on "My Network Places" and select Properties in the
menu.

Double click on "Create new connection".  Click "Next".

Choose "Dial-up to Internet".  Click "Next".

Choose "I want to set up my Internet connection manually..."  Click
"Next".

Choose "I connect through a phone line and a modem".  Click "Next".

In the Telephone number box, type in "206-576-7500", leave the area code
box as is.

Uncheck the box "Use area code and dialing rules", you don't need to click
on the "Advanced" button.  Click "Next".

Type your login/username into the "User name" box and your password into
the "Password" box.  They should be all lowercase.  Click "Next".

When the "Connection name" box comes up, you can rename it to "Zipcon" if
you like.  Click "Next".

Choose "Yes" to "Do you want to set up an Internet mail account now".  
Click "Next".

If its asks if you want to use an existing or create a new Internet mail
account, choose "Create a new Internet mail account".  Click "Next".

In the "Display name" box, type in your name as you'd like it to appear
when you send email.  This is not your email address.  For instance "John
Doe".  Click "Next".

In the "Email address" box, type in your email address, which is your
username with an @zipcon.net after it, for instance john@zipcon.net.  
Click "Next".

Leave POP3 in the upper box and type "mail.zipcon.net" into the Incoming
mail and Outgoing mail server boxes.  Click "Next".

Type in your login/username in the "Account name" box and your password in
the "Password" box.  They should be all lowercase.  Do not check the
"Login using Secure Password Authentication" box.  Click "Next".

You should now see an icon for the connection to Zipcon.  If you double
click on that icon, a window will appear asking for you to connect to the
Internet.  Just click the "Dial" button to connect.
