  1. Case Notes - 14th July 1993

  3. Just a few tips about playing around with this
  4. ToolBook application.
  5.  
  6. The material consists of the following files:
  7.  
  8. CASENOTE.TBK           -  a loader book used to give general instructions
  9.                           and to load the first patient's notes.
  10.  
  11. PETER.CBK              -  a patient file.  Note that ALL patient files
  12.                           MUST have the suffix .CBK and NOT .TBK
  13.  
  14.                           This is not the same as the version of the
  15.                           28th April 1993.  I have modified it to make
  16.                           it easier to reauthor, albeit at the expense
  17.                           of increased file size.  The change affects those
  18.                           pages that had lots of hidden fields.  I have
  19.                           replaced these with extra pages so you don't
  20.                           need to try to show the fields, you can simply find
  21.                           the relevant pages and re-author them.

  23.                           Another bug-fix uploaded 14/7/93.

  25.                           MAKE A COPY of this file and name it something else.
  26.                           Keep the original unmodified so that if you make
  27.                           a mistake, you can always recopy the original.
  28.                           
  29.                           Edit your copy in Author mode.  Do not switch to
  30.                           Reader mode to try it out.  Instead, save your
  31.                           file and then try it out with the runtime version
  32.                           of ToolBook.  That way you won't end up saving
  33.                           versions with the notes partially revealed or dialog
  34.                           boxes with greyed buttons.

  36.                           If you want a complete description of this file, 
  37.                           download CASEDOCS.EXE, but be warned, when expanded
  38.                           it's big! (You will need PageMaker 4.0).

  40.                           If you want to try reauthoring Peter to a new
  41.                           patient, download REAUTHOR.EXE which contains
  42.                           a ToolBook application giving details on how
  43.                           to reauthor Peter to Olayele, a Nigerian adult
  44.                           with jaundice!

  46. CNGLOSS.TBK            -  The glossary.  Very simple to add new entries.
  47.                           Look at the script of the background field "Wordlist".
  48.  
  49. FILEDLG.DLL            -  A Dynamic Link Library giving access to the standard
  50.                           Microsoft Windows 3.1 file-handling dialog boxes.
  51.  
  52. COMMDLG.DLL            -  Microsoft's common dialog dll.  For those of you still
  53.                           using Windows 3.0.  Put it in your \WINDOWS\SYSTEM
  54.                           directory.
  55.  
  56. TBKDLG.DLL             -  Provides the ToolBook access to dialog boxes.
  57.                           If you want to change my dialog boxes, you can find their
  58.                           templates in the Dialog buttons and these can be copied
  59.                           into the ToolBook dialog editor, changed and then pasted 
  60.                           back.
