Case Notes - 14th July 1993 Just a few tips about playing around with this ToolBook application. The material consists of the following files: CASENOTE.TBK - a loader book used to give general instructions and to load the first patient's notes. PETER.CBK - a patient file. Note that ALL patient files MUST have the suffix .CBK and NOT .TBK This is not the same as the version of the 28th April 1993. I have modified it to make it easier to reauthor, albeit at the expense of increased file size. The change affects those pages that had lots of hidden fields. I have replaced these with extra pages so you don't need to try to show the fields, you can simply find the relevant pages and re-author them. Another bug-fix uploaded 14/7/93. MAKE A COPY of this file and name it something else. Keep the original unmodified so that if you make a mistake, you can always recopy the original. Edit your copy in Author mode. Do not switch to Reader mode to try it out. Instead, save your file and then try it out with the runtime version of ToolBook. That way you won't end up saving versions with the notes partially revealed or dialog boxes with greyed buttons. If you want a complete description of this file, download CASEDOCS.EXE, but be warned, when expanded it's big! (You will need PageMaker 4.0). If you want to try reauthoring Peter to a new patient, download REAUTHOR.EXE which contains a ToolBook application giving details on how to reauthor Peter to Olayele, a Nigerian adult with jaundice! CNGLOSS.TBK - The glossary. Very simple to add new entries. Look at the script of the background field "Wordlist". FILEDLG.DLL - A Dynamic Link Library giving access to the standard Microsoft Windows 3.1 file-handling dialog boxes. COMMDLG.DLL - Microsoft's common dialog dll. For those of you still using Windows 3.0. Put it in your \WINDOWS\SYSTEM directory. TBKDLG.DLL - Provides the ToolBook access to dialog boxes. If you want to change my dialog boxes, you can find their templates in the Dialog buttons and these can be copied into the ToolBook dialog editor, changed and then pasted back. CASENOTE.TXT - This file. Andrew Booth bmb6agb@leeds.ac.uk
