  1. Molecular Basis of Medicine version 1.0 for Windows
  2.  
  3.     This is the Windows version of Molecular Basis of
  4. Medicine, which has been ported from the Macintosh, and
  5. is identical to the Macintosh version 1.  It was designed
  6. for medical students with no biology and includes basic
  7. cell structure, basic protein and DNA structure and DNA
  8. replication and gene expression covered by means of
  9. animations and graphics.  Of course it may be useful to
  10. other groups of students.  The courseware was produced
  11. with 'Authorware Professional' on the Mac and then ported
  12. to the PC and 'adjustments' made due to the relatively
  13. minor problems that result, but it does mean that
  14. versions are available for both platforms fairly
  15. painlessly.  There quite a number of files but students
  16. enter the courseware by way of the 'mainmenu.app' file,
  17. so it should be set up that way on student PCs or a file
  18. server.  The Authorware runtime is included with these
  19. files, of course if you already have this then only one
  20. copy is needed for any packaged Authorware courseware you
  21. may have.

  23.     Version 2 has been produced but needs further testing,
  24. but should be available soon.  Version provides greater
  25. control over animations and includes self-testing.
