  4. After she discovers that Charlie stole the wallet, Ann Marie runs away

  6. from the orphanage and goes to the Wallet Family's house to return the

  8. wallet.  The lady who lives there asks Ann Marie to stay for

  10. breakfast.

  12.  
  13. When they sit down to a breakfast of delicious waffles, Ann Marie

  15. tells the nice lady that she lives in a junkyard with her dog,

  17. Charlie.  The lady decides that she and her husband should help Ann
  18.  
  19. Marie find a home, perhaps their home.  But before the lady can tell
  20.  
  21. the child about her decision, Ann Marie decides to go back to Charlie.
