HOW TO REARRANGE OUTLINE ELEMENTS
ONCE THEY HAVE BEEN CREATED
A. Below we have a short sample outline that we will rearrange.
Whenever anything in an outline is moved, its children always go
along with it. For example, if we moved this outline element to
the end of an outline, both of its children would be moved with it.
1. Using the MOVE key
Position the cursor in this outline element and press ^M. (Note that
the children of this element and the text of all elements will be
temporarily hidden to assist you during the move.) Then use the
arrow keys to reposition this outline element. Notice how all
numbering is automatically adjusted as you move the element. Press
the Enter or the Esc key when the element is in its new position.
Before continuing, move the element back to its original location.
2. Using the single PROMOTE and INDENT keys
Position the cursor in this outline element and press F6. This will
INDENT this element, that is, it will make it a child of the one
above it. Without moving the cursor, press F5. This will PROMOTE
this element (the opposite of INDENT).
