│ Tunnels-N-Tombs Installation Program Instructions │
╘════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════╛
Tunnels-N-Tombs (TNT) uses subdirectories to organize and maintain
program files. Therefore, the installation program INSTALL.EXE has
been provided to make installation as smooth as possible.
Subdirectories used by TNT are explained below.
Subdirectory Name Description
───────────────── ────────────────────────────────────────
ANSFILES\ This is where all ANSI support files
used by the program are stored.
LEVELS\ This directory is where all player
level files are stored. TNT creates
and deletes player level files
automatically. The files contained in
this directory should not be deleted
manually or unpredictible results may
ocurr.
When you unpacked the TNT distribution archive, the following files
were unpacked:
TNT.NEW (if other than version 1.00)
INSTALL.DOC
INSTALL.DAT
INSTALL.EXE
Be sure to read the TNT.NEW text file. This is the program revision
history and release notes documents. It may contain important
information regarding updates, upgrade instructions and other critical
information.
To install or upgrade the TNT program files, please complete the
following steps:
1) If this is a first-time installation, create a subdirectory for
TNT. For the purposes of providing examples, we will use the
subdirectory C:\BBS\TNT.
2) Unpack the distribution archive or copy the files listed above
into the \BBS\TNT subdirectory or into your existing TNT
subdirectory.
3) Change to the \BBS\TNT subdirectory.
4) Execute INSTALL.EXE. The INSTALL program will now create the
necessary subdirectories and will also place files into the
appropriate subdirectories. This will not harm existing
installations unless otherwise stated in the TNT.NEW file.
5) Upon completion, INSTALL.EXE will exit, leaving you in the TNT
subdirectory.
6) At this point, you will need to read TNT.DOC and follow the
configuration procedures outlined therein (if this is your first
installation). If you are upgrading from a previous release,
follow the instructions outlined in TNT.NEW.
