  9. Player one, you are Wittgenstein and you command the elements of the combined russo-prussian 
  10. that must destroy the french army today.

  12. Napoleon's reformed 'Grande Armee' had marched from Mainz in April and is now approaching both 
  13. Leipzig (from the southwest) and Eugene's army that had been attempting to contain the Allied 
  14. advance since March. The French army has very little cavalry and is advancing virtually blind.

  16. You know that the French were gradually accumulating superior numbers and so have decided to strike 
  17. first in the hope of achieving a significant victory before the French concentrat all their forces. 
  18. You have massed your forces to the south of Leipzig and planned on a sudden attack north to cut the 
  19. road the French were advancing on at Lutzen (and in so doing strike the French in the flank). 
  20. Not only will you take the French by surprise, you will do so on ground that is suitable for the one 
  21. arm in which they had a marked superiority - cavalry.

  23. Ney's corps is tasked with protecting the right flank of the Grande Armee as it advanced on Leipzig. 
  24. Its lead elements were at Gorschen. This is initialy the only force you will encounter, but be carreful:
